I know this might be for the lore forum, but there’s a wide variety of people here and I’m just a smol lil green witch with a hyperfixation with plants.
I’m trying to figure out what effects each individual herb may have on the body in WoW - right now I’m only working on the original classic starting zone herbs. I’m writing extensioins, I just want to know if I’m characterizing these right. :3
This includes:
- Peacebloom
- Earthroot
- Silverleaf
- Mageroyal
- Swifthistle
Right now I have peacebloom listed as a blood coagulant, Silverleaf as a fever relief and pain suppressor, Earthroot as a dilator to increase bloodflow, Mageroyal as both a spice (it’s used in chocolate cake!) and as a relaxing herb, and Swiftthistle as a basic accelerant, increasing one’s metabolism.
Of course, this is like…a side hobby for me. I’d love advice if anyone wants to give it, I’m about to go cram work before heading off to work the bar - no sleep tonight.

Oh. Fair enough! Though - the goal isn’t to do all of them separately tonight - just a bit at a time, here and there. I’m not even gonna tackle the rest of them tonight, that’s a tomorrow thing - thank you though. :3
I am worried that if it’s grouped into a giant mega-doc though it may not be an interesting forum read. XD
Mageroyal I believe is also an ingredient to make Regenerative potions meaning it has healing properties, along with it being used in Mana potions as well.
I recommend looking at what each Herb in recipes are. And I believe on wowhead there is a large RP-herb-thing that tells you about the various herbs and what they do!

Wowpedia might be useful for this.
Here’s the entry for Peacebloom, peek under Notes and Trivia:

There’s a search function magnifying glass at top left.

Oh!!! That’s what I’ve been using - my little post about it a bit ago was drawn from what I saw from the potions list and where I found it. :3 As well as from the limited quest text and lore - I’m looking to extrapolate a little more from all that is all!
Looks like some RPers did something similar also on the same site, a few years ago:

Which just may save you a whole heap of time and might allow you some creative freedom!

OH!!! YES!!! THIS IS WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR!!!
Thank you so much - I usually avoid Wowwiki links because I’ve found they’re outdated - but this might be exactly what I need!
It was outdated, but i pushed on seeing as it was for a worthy cause!
I may’ve fallen down a rabbit hole, as i also found this:

Seems to reflect herb names in the Wow novels? (not a lore nerd)
Retchweed is in Shadows Rising for example, if that is of any help with your lore.
