Just stopping in to say making mobility abilities part of the DPS rotation feels bad

Not happening. This was already brought up before Realz delved more into the movement as a DPS mechanic.

He likes it, he said so himself, and he finds it to be the core of Havoc. He also said it’s there to stay, at least for this expansion. As long as there’re people that defend this playstyle and Realz likes it, it’ll stay.

I was a Havoc main through Legion and DF iteration made me quit. If you don’t like movement as DPS, you honestly should reroll. It’s not going away.

We’ve been there before. The remaining Havoc players will eventually burn from Fel Rushing / VRing when the bosses/mythic dungeons are a pain and they start asking for it be dialed back. Just wait a couple expansions for it.

Its actually a very simple window to use. You pop immo to start, VR and EB into a FR to get back in. Boom you have inertia, initiative and EB all up for a burst window. Forget about Eye Beam as a part of the window for anything other than getting into demon form. Its damage is to low.

I’ll have to try this. Raidbots didn’t have it this way and for some reason I “miss” a lot when I VR into ESsB. So I’ve been I’ve been doing immo eyebeam ESsB fel rush then blade dance and chaos strike x3. Then I VR immo rush and then blade strike again.

I do like inertia better than momentum. Takes getting use too.

I agree. The hardest thing for me is not wasting the proc extra immo auras. It’ll def take practice to get use to but it feels pretty good.

For Boss fights I usually try:
Immo>FR(to engage)>Hunt>Immo>EyeBeam>VR+EB>FR>BD>CSx3 as far as the basic. It’ll be a lot better with 2 piece auto throwing the glaive off dance.

Do you macro VR with ESsB and do it right away? I mained Veng last season and played ret for DPS. So I never really got how to vr and ESsB without missing.

I don’t use a macro but it could definitely work, I just got use to doing it instantly. I use to immediately follow up with Felblade too but now Fel Rush fills that space because of inertia

I’ve been speaking out against momentum since DF beta.

Essence break is great. It’s just an easy button to press (that also does good damage itself, which makes it fun to press imo) that buffs our demonic window. Inertia on the other hand needs to go away along with all the other momentum talents. It has the same problem as any of the other movement for damage talents. Zooming away from our target as a melee class is dumb, and it also cannibalizes our mobility to turn it into damage.

DH is my favorite class, but I want to re-roll due to the movement. I’m not a spring chicken anymore, and the most challenging part of any fight isn’t the mechanics; it’s moving my camera to the correct angles for fel rush. It’s a horrible, horrible design.

I believe the logic is that they have impressive dps, but you have to work for it. Fine. I’m happy to do that. But make it something other than movement all the time and battling my camera. It’s simply not fun to play because it’s way too hectic.

the playstyle is hilariously unfun and gets pretty boring fast. not to mention if you slip up your output just plummets.

furthermore the plates you spin to make the “impressive dps” happen is still overshadowed by other classes. so is it really worth it?

this movement (vengeful retreat, fel rush etc) build being the best build is why ive started leveling a warrior. i dont want to have to constantly be flying across the map during fights as if i have a.d.h.d in fights , now not saying they should get rid of these abilities but they deff shouldnt be in the normal rotation when it doesnt make sense to be moving around that much for no reason other than to give me motion sickness in a stand still fight.

This. It feels HORRIBLE. I’m in my 40s now. I’ve been playing WoW since it came out, and I have a love/hate relationship with DHs. Forcing us to zip around in order even to do decent damage is ridiculous, and the dev who keeps insisting that “this is part of their lore” (Realz) needs to be replaced. He clearly doesn’t have the player base in mind, only his own personal preferences for the class.

Fighting camera angles should not be part of a boss fight. Zipping across the room for a damage buff should not be part of a boss fight. It’s a terrible design and it’s time they let this one go.

I think inertia is fine, but momentum isn’t.

The dev said its part of DH identity in rework phase. It’s not going anywhere. Just gotta reroll to something else if you don’t wanna move.

This is basically Arcane Mage already.

Is there a viable build that doesnt use momentum/movement abilities?

Yes there is, just look up the wowhead guide.

Losing an 18% damage buff because you don’t want to FR doesn’t sound very viable lol

You’re wording this as if you’re losing 18% of your damage. You’re not.

I understand how it works lol but to not buffing heavy hitting abilities because you don’t want to FR is asinine. Basically 18% damage buff through full opener with one proc.

Ok look, stop talking to me.

The dps loss is far less than 18%, you’re losing maybe 5% of the damage in st, and in aoe it’s pretty close too.

There is an alternative, and it’s pretty close.

Now get out of here.

Not everyone likes playing with momentum. There is a build that is pretty close in damage, and if you wanna sit here and pretend there isn’t, you’re wrong.
