Just some thoughts I had

Hey guys! I’m in no way shape or form a game dev so idk how exactly I’d implement this, but I’ve been thinking about some stuff I’d really like to see on monk and wanted to run it by y’all and see if you agree!

One talent I would really like to add idk if I’d make it like a capstone or what exactly but I was thinking since blizz is wanting to add in more empower abilities they really missed a chance with this idea. It could replace fist of fury (I think it would be best since we don’t want a million channels) and it would be a chi charged punch. The longer you fill the bar either the more damage it would do or the more targets it would hit either way I’d be fine with it. Make it like a hardcore punch packed with chi and super flashy I’d love it!

Another idea I had was removing chi wave/burst and replace it with an energy blast straight from dbz. Maybe they could even get rid of lightning for it idk but it could be our ranged ability and maybe have a similar interaction as lightning that we build up charges for to make it nuke.

What do you guys think? If you have any other cool ideas I’d love to hear them!

An empower for Chi Burst could be cool, it lends itself to that concept quite well. But replacing FoF with an empower sounds very annoying. FoF is way too frequent.

Yea this is kind of how I want monk to be in general. The closest concept I can think to compare what I want to would be like physical adepts in shadowrun. Their magic is mostly internal to make them faster, stronger, nimble, etc.

That’s what I would like the monk specs to be like. Calling forth their inner spirit and the spirit of the celestials (we do this at least) to make their fist hard as steel and their feet light as air. Dancing around delivering devestating blows to our enemies. Instead we have this strange, increasingly caster focused thing going on that they can’t even settle on a concept for.

Imagine if mist weaver could disperse similar to a spriest but into mists and those mists healed allies in their area of effect and the monk is invulnerable for like 6 seconds. That would be cool. Or instead of that MW could turn into a cloud of mist and cover an allied target doing insane single target healing to them and giving them DR or dodge chance. Or for MW’s fist weaving to actually do real tangible healing and their rotation build into more things than just teachings. Like after spending 8 stacks of teachings of monestary you shift focus to teachings of jade forest so your RSK gets duplicated and after spending 3 of those it shifts to teachings of the lore master where it’s your normal rotation but your tiger palms always summon xuen and tiger palm has a personal haste buff that’s like 20% then it cycles back to teachings of the monestary. And our Sheilun clouds should change color based on what state we’re in. Maybe we could have an ability called Mist Shroud that’s basically like zephyr. I mean there’s so many things they could do to give mw an external dr that involves mist that it’s amazing they haven’t thought of it first fr.

Imagine if wind walker could do an uppercut knock up punch and then kick combos on the target in the air. That’d be AMAZING.

Imagine if brew master had a buff that was like the paladins blessing of summer that rotated effect based on which brew they consumed and it changed the way their abilities work, so it’s like stance dancing, but drinking. And as this happens they acquire stacks that given them something like “way of the drunken fist” that at max stacks reduces the cool down of their mobilities but slows their attacks but while slowed these attacks hit harder. Like way harder. So he looks like hes rolling around all psycho and stumbles into a punch that KOs a boss, BAM. Like in the movies that the concept of bm is based on.

These just a few ideas I came up with while typing this and I could sit here and just come up with ideas for it every day if it went anywhere.
