Just so you know, leveling an alt isn't that bad

I was watching a streamer yesterday talk about how painful it was to level is toon and how he will never level another alt in Classic. I just wanted to say, comparably to how everyone leveled up their first toon, leveling an alt is a lot easier.

I was forced to reroll on a different server and I have to say the experience is a lot more enjoyable. I have to kill X amount of mobs, no issue. Have to go kill that elite, chances are you don’t have to wait for it to respawn (I haven’t had to wait at all so far and I’m lvl25)

In fact the only issue I am having is finding groups for dungeons since there are so few people leveling alts I’m finding it impossible to form a group (haven’t been able to get into RFC, WC or BFD). I guess, technically, another issue is if you are not able to kill a mob yourself you might not be able to find help (I’m leveling a Warlock so I haven’t had that issue yet). My advice if you are not able to kill the elite just drop the quest and kill everything in sight to make up for the XP lost.

So if you want to level an alt but the memories of leveling your first toon are putting you off just let me say leveling an alt is totally different now and in many ways a whole lot better!

Some people just hate leveling though.

And some people don’t. That’s why it’s good to have games with a variety of playstyles.

Considering most of them have the attention span of a gnat, I don’t take their opinion on anything except those that talk about facts such as stats, gears and rotations.

But as a person who is working on his second character, it has been good. I’ve moved to different zones to do some leveling to get a change of scenery. Such as this time around, as an Alliance I went to Swamp of Sorrows and did the few quests out there.

Just have to jazz it up.

Frankly, I’ve always liked that one could jump around zones while leveling. It feels so… cosmopolitan?

Yea, STV is a great example. Has a large level range and suggests that you should visit every few levels to wrap up the various quests.

Going to other places in between is a great change of pace, gets you to move around and see different sights than in Retail where it curtails the grind to your level so the venture is eliminated.

Yes, in Cata they streamlined the old world leveling too much, IMO.

This is the part of classic of WoW that I missed. Venturing around and spelunking around different zones. I played in Vanilla, but I never knew about Tirion in EPL. (Or at least I don’t remember it) But roaming around and looking in every nook and cranny has made the venture so much more fun, especially seeing NPC’s that will be significant later in the story (and those that unfortunately are left to rot)

The toon I am currently posting on is my second classic toon, and he’ll probably be my main. Yeah, leveling an alt has always been easier. This toon has been fed BoE’s, so I always have reasonable gear, big bags and some extra cash.

I never really enjoyed the leveling process. All I found enjoyable while leveling was acquiring new gear, exploring new places, and interacting with other people doing the same thing.

Streamer in question might be use to wow tokens and the level boost.

This is my favorite part of Classic so far. I don’t remember it from when I played Vanilla, I just wanted XP and to eventually get to 60 (was my first MMO), the journey wasn’t that important.

Now I get to actually EXPLORE and I am having a blast. Working out of three zones simultaneously because some quests are too tough for me until I level up a bit. I love that, and it gets me out of my head down bull rush and instead I’m moving around Azeroth in search of sad NPC’s who need help.

It’s a great journey this time, one I plan on repeating with my other alts.

I’ve got: 60 Warrior, 45 Warlock, 31 Rogue, 29 Mage, 29 Paladin, 22 Hunter, 13 Priest, 11 Druid

Alts are fun! At some point I plan on leveling Horde alts on another server, too. Classic leveling/progression is a ton of fun to me.

Planning on working on a Hunter, possibly Dwarf, and looking to level more in the Nelf zones initially and then just move around after that.

Agreed. Yea it’s still a chore depending on class and leveling route but it’s nothing like your first time.

I’ve always been an altaholic. To the point I got sick of leveling. I’m enjoying it in classic and my alt addiction again.

This is why I like having two accounts. I can run my lowbies through lower dungeons. Doesn’t work ofc unless you have a high level but it is viable once you get to that point.
Makes twinking much easier too.

Lvling an alt is making the 50-60 grind way more bearable. Park my 54 inside of a rested ariea for a couple days, level my alt during that time, and I hop on my alt and get an easy couple of levels, repete until I eventually hit 60.

Also making friends that are max level makes things a ton easier. Take turns helping each other level alts is def the way to go.
