There’s a good chance this is precisely what went wrong. The male model looks much worse but the female mask has some bad clipping. Too bad, this was probably our last shot for a long time at seeing one of those tall Darkspear back getups, and a proper cloth mask or Rush’ka. I like the wood and cloth mix but both parts are really lack luster.

I think if

a) the cloth went under the nose
b) cloth physics in this game…existed…

It would look better.

Without a doubt, they added physics for it but in it’s current shape it just looks… well… you can see for yourself it swings all around. Zanthora posted a WoD mask that could have been tweaked to be perfect for this set without physics and it would have been just fine.

Zul’jin wasn’t a darkspear. Or in wc3. Sen’jin was though, and was frequently depicted with the same kind of mask. But the key difference is that their masks sat around their mouths, not from their noses.

Yeah, the mask should definitely go under the nose, at the very least on the male Trolls.

As for Zul’jin, he wasn’t a Darkspear, but apparently to Trolls, a Troll is a Troll. Darkspear in Warcraft III would call out “Vengeance for Zul’jin!” on spawn, and in WoW, Darkspear Trolls will call out “For Zul’jin!” when you use /charge. shrug

Male or Female? Just curious, because I didn’t test the Female Trolls. I only tested a Male Troll /charge. It doesn’t say it every time, but only took two times for me to get the “For Zul’jin!” battlecry before I posted, just to ensure it was still accurate and they hadn’t removed it. (edit, I typed the wrong name)

You’re right. There is some confusing crossover there. After all, Zul’jin was like the main troll for the horde back in Warcraft 2. So there probably was still some reverence for him up until when we kicked his door down in TBC.

And it’s a shame, Zul’Jin deserved better. He is so awesome.

This is a fair compromise, hey maintenance crew, if you’re looking for a compromise this is it. If you really wanna make us happy touch up the gloves and boots and slap a tiki face on that small shoulder.

Fixing the clipping for the belt wouldn’t be that hard if they elongated it and re-angled it, it looks goofy being so short anyway.
