Move rapid fire down. Don’t give me that trash. I like the current talents in live cause i don’t have to be a brain damaged spammo huntard.
Keep Rapid Fire as a choice node not a required node. Don’t foist your spam trash on me.
EDIT: I’m mostly angry and frustrated they are changing a playstyle i like again. Every expac. Honestly I’m growing tired of it.

It has been required this entire expansion. There is not a single viable build without Rapid Fire.
If you’re worried about your world questing experience just dont press the button.

My main is a Shaman but blizz hates shaman so i back up on marksman hunter and i have a fun non spam-o build that works just as well.
It’s never been a choice node. And it’s always been required.
I wouldn’t mind seeing viable RF-less build options or RF-alternatives made available, but… maybe have some accuracy in your implicit claims?

My rotation consists of aimed shot open. concussive shot if they can be slowed with 2 aimed shots to get steady focus and depending on single or multi I use arcane/chimera or multi shot and if multi I can aimed shot trick shot again. Explosive Shot on CD. I can stay far back and hit from a good distance and make sure I cover my 6 so healers don’t have to worry about me to much but I stay as close as I can so they don’t have to run far.
If its mechanic based I find the optimal spot and steady shot when I have to move. I just don’t like the look or feel of rapid fire and I can do decent damage without it.
7 focus for 1.8 seconds for rapid fire. Steady shot gives me 10 focus each 1.6 seconds and when I shoot 2 I get 8% haste for 15 seconds. All i ever see is rapid fire barrage and volley hunters and they complain about their rotations and damage not being good.
I know there is In the Rhythm but thats 15 haste for 6 second.
You are incredibly gimped without Rapid Fire.
What we’re trying to convey to you is not taking it is just as determinantal to your performance as taking it and not pressing the button.
If you just want to play on your Hunter doing super casual stuff then you can continue to do just that. But the moment your performance is graded, be it by systems or other people, they’re going to have the same view of you. WTF why aren’t they ever pressing Rapid Fire?
That’s the entire point of this talent shuffle. It may as well be baseline.

Then at that point marksman should be renamed to heavy gunner. I like the fantasy of a methodical hunter who can steadily do damage without the need to break out the suppressive fire. Why do i have to be pigeonholed into the gunner hunter? Why can’t i be the sniper hunter? I think the issue is that rapid fire is just foisted to hard onto the class and there is no build other then the spam-o-matic hunter. I already have to deal with this on shaman where there are bad feeling required abilities that the classes damage crutches on so hard its like “Where is my choice? There is none and i have to follow the cookie cutter.”
Maybe i should just shelf hunter. I use to be a healer but people got so careless all the time and blizz wanted to make healers sweat more. I’d tank on my warrior more but again i end up getting impatient people pulling more things i can hold cause blizz put a aggro limit on tanks and we all die and i get blamed when its the ranged that pulled.
I don’t dislike rapid fire but it doesn’t make sense for a so called “sniper” to be shooting that much
if marksmans fantasy was a ranger or rambo sure

Yea. If it wasn’t called marksman but something else i guess. And most of the guns are flintlock or bolt action. I’m using one that looks like a levergun and i shouldn’t be shooting it like a machinegun. I know there is rotary multi barrel ones.
Snipers in the army do carry a semi-automatic or a full-automatic as a secondary depends on what they let them use they don’t use that sniper rifle all the time.
I do get disliking rapid fire.
It feels weird for a predominantly physical class to have a self-interruptable channel requiring you to either use [nochanneling] macros or risk self-sabotage (especially with ‘In the Rhythm’).
For me the payoff of machine-gunning shots out mostly compensates for the awkwardness of a channel, but if I had the option to swap to a non-channel then I definitely would.
Can you share your Marksmanship build?
So, I looked up your talents…
You’re ilvl 410, don’t raid, Mythic+ or PvP and you didn’t even make it to the bottom of the tree on your talent choices…
To each their own, but you don’t really get a say when you’re not playing the class correctly or even at current gear lvl/tier set.

I gave up raiding awhile ago cause people expected you geared in the guilds but never helped in any way and where more of a tight nit group that only wanted to use outsiders to fill slots. I just want a build I can enjoy without the need for skills and abilities that pull me out of the class fantasy I want.
Probably because they didn’t want to waste time on someone that couldn’t even put in the effort to talent properly.
Sorry but when the content you do can literally be done without talents it doesn’t matter what you take.

Go frolick around the forest talentless then, but do not voice your opinion then on a system you don’t use properly.
All I’ve heard from you are excuses and blaming others for your short falls.
I don’t know which hunters you talk to, but MM does good damage in all three (raiding, mythic +, pvp) so your arguments seem solely based on your own bias and not the general consensus.
Go foist your improper talent usage on your pets.
