In my Rose colored glasses state while breezing through BFD and absorbing that ‘Classic’ nostalgia, I was also romping around on a new monk in retail because ‘hey it comes with the sub right?’
I broke my one rule and preordered this expansion mainly:
-Because SoD was doing well at the time and the servers felt very active
-Because I could and had faith in the product at the time.
I tried for months to defend SoD and the state of the game but after essentially hundreds of hours of first hand ‘research’ and seeing the writing on the wall and the fact I haven’t logged into SoD in a month - this is a justified message to blizzard.
For whatever reason, my excitement for this game has been repeatedly and consistently beaten into submission because of the decisions and messages made by this company.
I’m not cool with blizzard getting $60 for TWW. Nope. Not anymore.
lol $60 for a crappy expansion with 2 weeks of content
also preordering vidya games should be illegal. the industry has abused this system for far too long. no more. if you wanna sell a game, make the dang thing first.
I’m sure the folks at Blizzard will pin this up on their bulletin board. If you want to vent knock yourself out, but you’re not teaching them a lesson. A company like this is only concerned with initial sales. The only way anything will change game-wise is if lots of folks don’t buy the expansion to begin with, like you’ve done here. I don’t see that happening though, as folks seem to be unable to resist the new expansion hype train.
There are companies that pay attention to feedback, but Blizzard hasn’t been one for a long time. The only language a company like this understands is your wallet.
Bask in the day, a “pre-order” was something you did because there would literally only be so many copies printed. It’s absolutely atrocious that this model has continued in the AAA space.
For Indies I can understand giving the devs a bump for projects you want to see come to light, especially pre-ordering for early access type situations, but Blizzard is just being greedy and trying to lock players into a purchase.
The funny thing is that blizzard didn’t have to give us new content for classic but they did anyway knowing full well you wouldn’t appreciate it. No one is forcing you to play SoD. You literally have 4 versions of the game to choose from.
What I’m saying is that there was a version of the game that lent itself to the quality of the overall product.
That wasn’t the case at all even slightly. SoD was fumbled and they shouldn’t expect people to want to keep an investment in something after seeing bad behavior?
Does that make more sense?
With all that said, they’re saying they don’t want to refund it based on ‘using boosts and game time’.
I’m curious what the BBB has to say about this one.
Blizzard has consistently overpromised, underperformed, and mishandled all of their IPs for many, many years at this point. Somehow there always manages to be someone willing to lick the pond scum from their boots.
Never preorder games and always wait 2 weeks or so after launch to see the cracks of the game. If people followed this rule, there would be a hell of a lot less people getting scammed by bad game design (shadow lands, D4 I’m looking at you)
As a hobby I’ll just stick with Lego, that company has sent me hundreds of dollars of bricks - no questions asked - whenever there was even a slight question they messed up.
I’ll never give blizzard another dime. I’m over it!
Lots of people talk about how freeing it is to unsub but honestly I’ve done it enough times to know this was the last straw.
Classic was a great idea. And for me this was a way to just button up my toons and basically put them in their final coffin tuxedos. Changed names and races changed back.
I’m happy I have my little collection of stuff from WoW. Playing this game brings little to no joy and just causes me to question interpersonal relationships as a whole
(Edit: Defending blizzard and calling wow an Ex is basically the IQ level of the average WoW enjoyer. Completely entranced by purple text and being snarky while huffing hemorrhoid fumes )
Is this the retail forums? Just want to make sure I actually clicked the season of discovery ones because I’m not sure what retails new expansion has to do with SoD.
Umm, I don’t know if you’re aware but they re released classic because retail expacs were bombing. Classic literally saved wow retail and you apes are still wildn out.
First hard quit was original cata then came back for BC classic. Then SoD caught my attention during the winter months.
I know you folks who are accustomed to subsisting on the slop and garbage this company shovel feeds you find it quite literally unbelievable that people have moderate to severe self control. Especially after what the company does to it’s fans?
What was your favorite part about the last 6 months with blizzard?Humor me. The layoffs? The lack of communication? How about the bugs?
This game is fun for all the wrong reasons and the people who I played with weren’t good enough to convince me the whole of the community is worth any association.
Anyway - if I cared about my transmogs and traders mounts then you wouldn’t have seen my face here.
