Just Remove Transmog Restriction Already

Evidently every last patch they have released lately, they have removed restriction more and more. I remember when Ion said “We don’t want to make Priest wear plate or vice versa for Warrior”.However that arguement is pretty much over with. Heritage such as Dark Iron, Light Forged Draenei, Mag’har etc has broken that deal.

Not to mention they have made Legion Artifact weapons able to be transmogged from 2-hand weapons into dual wield weapons and vice versa.

I get that they won’t remove Class Attire restriction in combat and gear and upgrades which I am perfectly happy with if anything.
However let people customize their character however they want. Ion have even said that the Dev team is happy to let players feel more identical towards their character.

Edit: It pains me that most Leather Transmog Attires has the coolest sets for Mag’har/Orc, as it looks very tribal. Not to mention since the devs are evidently not going to give us Dual Wield Survival Hunter. Then let us be able to transmog our 2-Hand into 1-Hand dual Wield.

And while they are at it, they could at least let us acquire the appearances of unusable gear we get from old dungeons/raids so it could be usable for our alts of other classes

This! The whole restriction when it comes to customization option in transmog, feels very oudated in 2022

Lore wise it makes sense for Mages to wear plate, we see this in battle Mages across both factions. It’s also not world breaking to allow Warriors to wear some cloth and leather, this has a historical and lore backing in that warriors both RL and in Warcraft wear various types of armor, including some that is partial or whole cloth/leather/mail.

The lore argument is just gone.

I’d love for restrictions to be lifted. People can be so against it yet they don’t have an issue with how cartoonish much of the armor looks in WoW. lol

I want this so bad bruh

I don’t agree with this. I like how transmogs currently work. Transmogs should reflect the class of armour a player has equipped.

Just let me unlock transmog pieces for my account if I got them to drop on any of my characters regardless if they can wear it or not.

Not to mention if we’re gonna talk about how it breaks Lore, there are another hundred major factors that are far worse. Lore breaking in game that even Blizzard themselves break

I for one prefer restriction, exceptions to the rule are acceptable but there needs to be relative consistency when speaking of the general armor.

Leather wearers need to be lightweight and agile, it’ be illogical to see one wearing plate.

I agree it wouldn’t make sense for a Hunter to wield Doomhammer or for a Warrior to wield Ashbringer. What I refer to is basic Green,Blue,Purple items.

Like seeing Priests running around in Dark Iron Dwarf Heritage that already exists ingame?

I tend to agree, since armor class is pretty much meaningless these days. Plate doesn’t even matter anymore, it is based on spec now.

Or the mog I’m currently wearing is essentially a suit.

This! Also to clarify what I mean, It makes sense not to remove restriction when it comes to item upgrades etc for ingame mechanics. But when it comes to Customization let players have the free choice.

That is an exception to the rule like I had said.
They are Dark Iron, they can wear their set.

You don’t see Human Priests using the Dark Iron set.

And Lightforged Draenei Heritage that is plated, and Mag’har that is mail?

You seem to be ignoring what I’m saying.

They are exceptions for that particular race.

I hear what you saying but I fail to see your logic but anyone is entitled to their opinion

Certain things like class specific tier sets and legendary weapons should still be locked to classes. But set recolors and normal gear should be free for all.
