Just remove gear from arena. GW2 style

You heard me. Just do it. When you enter rated pvp you get vendors with all the gear in the game(gw2 style). But make it where you still have to be 60. Maybe even give a “noobie” wall where you cant enter rated pvp for a little while at 60 until you learn your class some(moba style).

was recently thinking of how to do it exactly

option #1: insta-lvl-cap realms, these chars are limited to one city and cant do anything except q for pvp

2: remove or make baseline the current pvp talents, turn the first pvp talent slot into a stat allocation choice (like the gw2 amulets) and the other two into your trinkets, allow queueing for max level pvp at any level with totally standardized power. needs some kind of “lobby” area for lvl 1s to set up bars talents etc before queueing

whoever unironically comes in here saying “but muh MMO” has clearly not played any of the ones which let you instantly pvp with standardized power like gw, gw2, osrs

That would be an amazing system which is why we’ll never see it from blizzard. They seem fixated on making us grind until our eyes bleed. Zzzzz

Agree with you. We have PvE and unranked PvP for these people that want to gear stomp everyone.

Any serious competitive PvPer should have zero issue with standardized gear. The barrier to entry is way too high and most players don’t even try.

I’ve been barking up the GW2 style PvP zone tree since that game launched. That’s one of the few things they do better than WoW. Imagine WoW PvP without the 3 month grind. Participation would skyrocket.

Give us The Mists…which would pretty much be tourney realm.

How is that guild wars 2 style? If i wanna play a new character in pvp on gw2 i can create him and then 2 minutes later i can queue in a match with him at level 1 and be at the same gear level as everyone else.

They’d have to dedicate themselves to regular balancing if they did something like this

The only saving grace in the terrible alt process is that it limits fotm rerolls to an extent
