Then fall into an endless cycle of only bad players with no IO applying to your group and the ones you do invite get impatient and leave because it takes eons
TLDR just join a guild
Edit: I should clarify that I’m mainly talking about the 8/9/10 key range, it’s just awful.
Odd. Even as a dps if I make my own group for a key it’s only about 5 minutes.
There was one time a group of 3 people asked to join and one of their buddies was very low ilevel. They were trying to help gear their friend so I let them tag along. We did fine.
Honestly in my experience I almost don’t like to invite premades because they’re more prone to either leaving or being carry groups and bringing along an undergeared tank or low dps
If you make a plus 2 key and expect 1400 io players that’s the issue.
I posted a 15 mists today only to have players sign up faster than I could read it to the point by the time io loaded had 3 more pages to look at. Of them quite a number over 215 io and io 1300.
You need to set expectations based on the content.
Thankfully in my case the undergeared was just another dps but he did fine. I guess some classes can still do a decent chunk of dps even with low ilevel. I wish I could remember their ilevel. I wanna say it was around 150ish.
True true. I was just pleased to see the obvious player being carried wasn’t rude about it. Since some players of that type tend to be spoiled brats. They were nice and sent me whispers thanking me.
I can agree that 8/9/10 key ranges are pretty bad. Sometimes it’s a magical party and you all do well, but it’s much harder to ‘carry’ dungeons when there’s two people who are not very good than it has been before.
On my DH I was pugging keys last week with one of my bosses. We had two good higher keys on 12 and 11. Then an abysmal 10 Necrotic Wake. The key failed basically on the first boss. Two of the DPS were not touching the maggots that the boss spawns and didn’t after 4 attempts.
How people reach that io without knowing basic mechanics of a dungeon astounds me…
(With that said we did have some good and some bad. )
And find that as a nobody, you will end up having to pug all your own content. People who say that are the rock stars in their guilds, running with the same clique and carrying each others’ alts. When you need help they are busy with their own progression or just silent.
I don’t find that at all. Maybe it’s because I’m in a smaller guild, but generally they’re pretty happy to take anyone on runs outside of the ‘dedicated’ night they do, especially to get people at least 1 done for the cache.
That said, our main problem is that we only have 1 tank who runs them and 1-2 healers because our other raid tank and healers don’t bother with it so you’re left waiting a while to get a group. Pays to play a hybrid this expansion I guess.
I tried to do a +6 Plaguefall on my Priest and got a fire mage that did 867 DPS on the first boss. He was 190, and his friend he was running with was 197 doing 1.2k DPS. That first boss took almost 7 minutes, and the run to the second boss had one of the Mages choosing to run through mobs we didn’t pull.
I’m jealous of your low ilvl performer after that experience of mine, haha.
what even? I can put up a 8 key throughout the day any day and get people anywhere ranging from 600-1k IO signing up for it. If you’re in arush and fill the group in 30 seconds without filtering a little, yea youre not gonna have a good time. but give it 15-20 minutes and you can build a good group every time. The only struggles is finding a good tank. Tanking is in a real bad spot right now and it’s hard to find goodones.
I pugged my way to 1100rio with all 13s timed, never made my own group or used my own key and I can say the 6-9 key range is awful, so many bad players. Gets alot better at 10-13
