It already effectively becomes passive via the Cut to the Chase skill at level 20, so it feels like just an extra button that needs to be pressed at the start of a fight on a class that already has too many of those.
Why hasn’t it been changed by now to just be “Adds 3 seconds of slice and dice per combo point spent” regardless of whether or not SnD is already active? I think the class would feel quite a bit smoother if you didnt have to worry about manually pressing SnD before starting your main rotation.
It’s kinda like Consecrated Blade for Ret paladin. Instead of having an extra button to press to apply consecration, they just get to slap a Consecration down by casting Blade of Justice. I think a lot of great streamlining can be done by adopting that same philosophy, and rogue already seems halfway there, just make it so we can take SnD off our bars and let it apply passively on our primary combo spender

Lol. Yes, I’ve been struggling for weeks needing new keybinds and debating putting slice and dice on a keybind. But in the end, I had to do it, of course. I’ve no idea what I’ll put there when it’s gone but it I found a great place for it (it’s in a place I can accidentally click which is minimal to no damage with S&D).
I haven’t been paying attention to ptr, is this like literally coming next patch?
It’s not for a while yet, but they are doing exactly as you suggest. I think it’s in the November patch. Too lazy to check tbh.

It’s on the 20th anniversary patch i believe. Making you cast a slice and dice equivalent to the main finisher for each spec. So 5 point dispatch equals 5 point snd as well.

When this patch comes out, we can free up a snd keybind! Cant wait for that. I’ve been trying to decide what to put in its place if anything

Where does it say that? In the notes, for Assassination anyways, it doesnt mention it, unless this is how its working in PTR currently. and Live it only gives a flat +3 seconds per combo point spent or so

either way itd easily be enough to replace SnD as something you need on your bar, which is a welcome change

Damn I wasn’t aware of this change. That’s pretty neat.
The Thistle Tea change sounds really nice too. I’ve been wanting to pick up Assassination but some of the maintenance and CDs were putting me off.

Easily. For assassin, it’s only 10 more energy instead of using snd, and it gives snd in ptr. That’s a keybind FREED or replaced with something else for a better spot in keybind!
