Just lost a fortune thanks to trading post

Are you druly that dense or what :') I believe I’ve explained it a few times already. It’s not my fault you can’t really seem to comprihend what you’re reading. If something has a value of 0 it’s not a rare item, if everyone gets something for free it has no rarity. The issue why I care about the value of this virtual little thing is because of the time and effort spent getting them. If I hadn’t done that I too could of gotten it for free or at least know it’s not at all worth the time and effort because hey it’s not rare anymore! Also the other issue with it is that it makes me feel like any other item in my collection can just loose their rarity, so why bother getting anymore rare items if they in a month or two become worthless and common? I don’t want to spend time working to get something only to find out I can get it scot free in a month or two.

Capitalism can be a cruel game. Sort of why its sometimes bad to hold assets as tender.

Not everything. Fomo is good if used sparingly.

No one will ever EVER get my mog! Unless they played the same exps of course.

I just think you’re being very silly. :kissing_heart:
Again, change it up. Scarcity is mostly artificial even irl. Rarity doesn’t exist.

If folks could get Sulfuras today for free, that doesn’t invalidate my personal journey to get it. Neither does this invalidate your personal journey to get those kittens. You are purely upset that someone has something that you also have and again,

Heckin landlord behavior my dude. Please get comfy with just having your own stuff and finding worth in your own accomplishments instead of with your illusionary idea of gathered wealth and rarity.

You are like a child guarding a sandcastle on a beach. Actually no. You are an adult guarding the same sandcastle.

Also yes I am that dense. Still gonna confidently talk about this though :3

I believe I’ve explained it a few times why I feel the way I do about it. It has more to do with the rarity of the item though yes ofc I’m upset about the value crashing down, not because resell value but the fact that I too could of gotten this item for free rather than see the effort I did to get it. I most certainly would not have wasted all the gold on something that has no rarity or value at all. But hey if you do enjoy buying common items for a million, when you can get it for free in a month more power to you. However this also makes me feel like I should not buy anything or see the effort to collect expensive things anymore because well heh this is just going to happen again… and again… and again. Like I’ve said before I was the fool and I’ll take the L on it, just don’t ask me to be happy about it.

But dude, you or anyone else could never have predicted this…

When did you get this cubs? Cuz the TP is a new concept. If you’ve had them for a few years now then you could argue you made a good investment or gotten your time and money’s worth.

But it is what it is.

You are setting yourself up for failure and disappointment if you keep lookin at it this way

well put. collect things because you like them or find them valuable. your life will get better when you stop treating everything like a competition for resources.

Literally I have a collection of small rocks I’ve found by rivers. Are they worthless? Yep! But they’re shiny and fun colors and they make me happy.:smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

I mean isn’t that what we are all after? A sense of accomplishment whether it is filling out a collection with virtual pets, or grinding virtual gear that becomes obsolete in a month or two? If you build a sand castle ofc you want to protect it or have it stand for at least a while instead of having someone just randomly jump on it and leave a dump on the castle courtyard the moment you look away.

It is what you are after my friend.
Everything is temporary. Your personal possessions and accomplishments will mean nothing.
To be blunt, you are going to die, and everything you have gathered will…remain, until it doesn’t. Your account will be deactivated, your possessions will be auctioned, at best someone in your family will get to hold onto something of yours. In a hundred years, your legacy will at best be…a name and a couple memories of memories.

Permanence doesn’t exist. Focus on the now. Enjoy the fact you climbed the mountain even if there was a road up it. Enjoy the momentary pleasures even if they’ll fade. If somebody stomps your sandcastle right as it’s finished, yeah, that sucks - but it doesn’t invalidate the time and care you put into it. The joy you had building it. You have that in your memory. That’s all you can hold on to. It’s all you will ever be.

If you feel they make you happy and you enjoy collecting them then they’re not worthless. However if someone sold you a golden nugget and it turned out to be just an ordinary stone with gold paint on it naturally it would feel a bit meh yes? I’ve already said… I’m the fool in the matter and I’ve learned my lesson from this adventure. Doesn’t mean I have to feel happy about it though.

I wouldn’t be buying a gold nugget - there’s prettier, shinier stones on the beach - and besides it wouldn’t matter - real or not it’s a pretty rock. :3 You have a whole worldview that I just can’t understand.
I don’t care about monetary value.

Well congrats you’re not as foolish as I was then, I bought the nugget and with the price I paid for it I could of had a garden filled with pretty stones. Now I just have a fake nugget and everytime I look at it I feel meh, what a waste of time that was. You know your way of looking at life might be the path to more happier existence, yet as we are different people and come from different places we can’t all see the world the same way.

That’s more than fair. We all come from different spots.
My advice is just…take more walks. Put value towards things that are monetarily worthless. Find some cool rocks on the road and neat sticks. Write lil notes and make a mural out of them. Find joy in the little things.

I’d be more inclined to agree with you if TCG wasn’t discontinued back in 2013. It’s just gatekeeping at that point because there’s only a limited amount of spectral tiger cubs and even other things like spectral tiger mount.

I’m glad they’re giving players more ways to obtain it other than spending a crap ton of real life currency or in-game currency.

Maybe what Blizzard could do in the future is make another TCG lite in the form of Hearthstone though, such as every card pack bought in game has a small chance to give you a code to redeem on World of Warcraft. I don’t know, would be neat.
