Really? You are telling me that you honestly feel, that people doing the mage tower, sacrificed doing other things in the game, just to get it? And other people having a way to obtain it now would trivialize that?
It would not. The content was played and enjoyed when it was current. It was a fun challenge. You cannot say people who did the mage tower then, would be cheated out of time invested 3 years ago, by people getting it now.
I almost give up on the obtuseness of people arguing against opening the appearances back up.
Also claiming people would distrust Blizzard for going back on it? You really thing this will be their hill to die on? How many times have they gone back on their statements to correct or change something?
I am not a big fan of re-colors. I would much rather see a new Mage Tower type content with all new cool things. Let the artists and designers go wild with possibility.
As a someone who didnât start playing until
The last quarter of BfA, it really sucks having missed out on so much cool stuff. I can understand exclusivity somewhat, but I think Blizzard should at least release recolours of stuff from the mage tower like the druid forms. Or do what FFXIV does and release limited-time stuff on the shop later.
Lets take your druid you said you did it and completed it
Now you have a mage why canât you go do the MT for that look since you completed it on your druid?
I mostly agree, just not with the shop thing. Itâd work fine as a Legion Timewalking-only challenge scaled to fit modern mechanics, class abilities, and gear item levels.
Because it was on offer for legion - and I didnât do it then on my mage (if I had a mage) - so Iâm not going to snivel about it. I can be responsible for my own choices. Can you?
Im still upset they removed the benediction quest line in Cata. Zero reason to do that. (Iâm more impressed if I see a priest with that over some bear with giant hands).
That logic can be used for every single item in the game though. People spent hours in MC and many, many, months doing BWL and MC for Thunderfury. Guilds broke up because of that item.
Now someone can solo it and play the RNG slot machine until it drops.
How is it obtuse to want companies who advertise events as time limited to keep those things time limited? Thatâs just rational.
Obtuse is asking for things to come back even though they were heavily advertised with an expiration date. Itâs a common practice in gaming to get people to stick around. PoE does it all the time.
I can but your not acting responsible for you choices you just want to attack everyone.
Great glad you said it still doesnât lession the fact i showed up at the end of MoP to get the cloak and weapon only to be told by the company you canây finish it and the quest was removed. After they had already said we could.
We have another amateur dev here.
How do you scale something that was designed around a snapshot in time?
The Artifact and itâs tree and powers are gone.
Legion Legoâs are gone.
Specs have been completely revamped.
No, those encounters were specifically designed to be solo challenges. There are almost no content that pits a single player against the game. Everything else is based on teams.
And the same with mounts for example, you can go in for a year to ICC to try at Invincible. Many achievements are not time sensitive or behind a rating or behind some other gate and when you have godly powers you can go back and get them. But to demand it of all achievements is not really fair to your fellow players.
Artificial scarcity aside, even if something is done en masse, it doesnât mean it works well. By now, itâs had a converse effect and just feels bad to not be able to obtain for newbies.
Make it tough? Sure. Absolutely. Even tougher than before, perhaps.
Make it impossible to get? Not a fan. Furthermore, I think the amount of disappointment that generates outweighs what little satisfaction is occasionally felt in having something others cannot. Even if they were perfectly capable of the same challenge.
