Just Let Everyone Get The Mage Tower Appearances

So exclusive stays exclusive if you think it warrants it but if the challenge doesn’t meet your personal set of specifications, it can be marketed as exclusive but then reneged on?

Ok then.

Then you’ve heard wrong. The tank ones (at least) were never faceroll.

Yeah, but Core hound was from an LFR only thing, it’s also a little disingenuous to act like that’s the same when it came back via BMAH and doesn’t rotate in often? The second link is literally just saying that people experiencing a bug with the achievement mount not awarding can filter to see if it shows up? I’m not sure the intended implication on that one.

If you look at the 7.2 “A Challenging Appearance” preview that Rhay ever so kindly posted, they didn’t claim that at all. In fact even in the live developer Q&A for patch 7.3 when Ion was asked if Blizz had a definite decision regarding the unlocking of Artifact appearances for transmog, he said:

“We’re currently looking and thinking about a system that would let players gain their artifact appearances and continue to, even in later expansions, go back and unlock and earn them from doing Legion content. Even if you never played Legion you could go back and do them. The sole exception to that is likely to be the skill based challenge unlocks, so specifically the mage tower and the mage tower related appearances, and probably the mythic 15 look.”

They didn’t commit to anything, they just said that’s the direction they were thinking of going. But then they went back and decided later to implement a way to obtain the mythic 15 appearances after Legion. There was no promise that either of those things would always be exclusive to that expansion.

Core hound was specifically marketed as time-limited. Sorry but you can’t ignore that.

Your second comment shows that you’re not quite up to speed on things that return to the game, even in the face of Blizzard’s own words. Obsidian Worldbreaker is on BMAH.

if they bring back mage tower, they should bring back every old challenge that was ever in the game. don’t forget about the AQ opening for another mount chance too

i said i just wanted mage tower back so i can do it. i dont really care about the rewards. Content is content it should never be removed. What someone else has doesnt affect me lol. You shouldnt be worried if someone else is able to obtain a cosmetic item in a game. At some point you gotta grow up and realize that you are in fact not the center of the universe.

I agree - the return of the Mage Tower sounds like a good bit of fun. I’ve not tried it on a ranged or healer class and would like to do so. Most of the commotion is not about the content however; it is about what rewards said content will provide. And while it’s still up for speculation, it appears it will be a recolor of the T20. This will not do for some people.

Right, they should.

I’m just going to quote myself here.

Because that wasn’t hard to do. That is not even the same thing, it wasn’t a challenge. All you guys trying to bring up these scenarios that is not even comparable with mage tower is funny.

Eh, but now that you say I can’t do something, I’m going to. It’d also go a lot farther to not be a jerk, but w/e I guess? Thanks for filling me in, though.

Should the Core Hound and Obsidian Worldbreaker count though? These were anniversary rewards, pretty much participation trophy rewards. What other rewards have they brought back that actually required a strenuous amount of effort?

There actually was and they said multiple times that you better get the mage tower appearances now before they are gone forever. Keep up the copium but you are not ever getting our glorious exclusive mage tower appearances unless you already have them :^)

I have said that the arguments give the appearance of having personality traits. Or seem mean spirited. I have tried hard to not directly insult people. But if I have I accept that. And arguing with people who have a different viewpoint? Sure.

But when people have the stance of “Well if they do this, then they have to bring back EVERYTHING!” Which is kind of extreme, I will disagree. Also when people say that people should just accept it if they perceive something is unfair and be quiet. I disagree with that as well. When people start saying people are entitled brats, or had poor upbringing, due to them feeling that an appearance of an item or spec, in a video game was removed, should be reverted, I also will disagree with that.

Here is the core of my feelings on the issue. Whether or not they are actually brought back, I will not change my gameplay. I have ones for my chars I played during that time. I liked the challenge and achievement. If they stick to their guns and leave them in Legion, I am ok with that. Still going to play and level alts. The end decision Blizzard makes, really doesnt have much, if any impact on the game for me.

BUT, I think the appearances are cool, and I want the opportunity to get them. It is something that I want, just because I think they are cool. If they are brought back, I will get them on a few more chars and specs. It was fun, and the appearances are great.

And I feel that the people who are against bringing them back in any form, dont have a good argument. And when they say it will sour them on the game, or they would quit, or not bother doing any content, because they can do it later when its easy, I feel is a empty threat. And the other end where calling people spoiled brats or entitled seems a bit much to me as well. And I also fundamentally disagree with the though process where, wanting things to be difficult or unfair for people, because it either was difficult or unfair for you, or as a barrier for them not having something you have.

So If anyone felt personally insulted, I am sorry. But I will stand by what I have said about how the arguments appear, and what my perception is about how that argument is coming across.

Show us where Blizzard stated the mage tower artifact appearances would be gone forever. You’d be the first one to do that in any of these threads.

Gee, I thought it was because the servers couldn’t handle thousands of players in 1 zone. Nah, they didn’t crash constantly during that event.

They said they would be gone, repeatedly, I shared a link here in this thread - you mentioned it yourself. Did they say will be gone forever? No they didn’t use that language. But honestly, do they really have to?

Nah I was there all of Legion reading the various posts about it, instead I’m just going to sit back and enjoy the copium while running around Orbos with my amazing exclusive druid skins that no one will ever be able to obtain again.

You and a few others keep repeating it like it’s some kind of good argument because blizzard said “can no longer be obtained” instead of “forever gone.” Anyone who isn’t being deliberately obtuse knows exactly what blizzard meant with their statement.

Yes. Because Ion is a lawyer, and for all the things I can fault him for, he’s not stupid. He uses noncommittal language when he’s answering questions. That’s intentional.

Yeah, that’s because those two things don’t necessarily have the same meaning.
