Title. Just got my first DHK from a dingbat in my raid earlier today, and I’m kinda hoping I don’t have to do a ton of PvP to make up for it. WSG is a toxic nightmare right now.

I lost an entire rank when my Homunculus killed the Night Elf citizen near Zoram’gar Outpost. Had to grind the whole rank again.
So yeah…DHKs are very bad. Imagine later on when you’re rank 10+. You could lose 30+ hours of grinding just from one random dude in your WPvP raid doing something stupid.

Yeah as I understand it, one DHK drops you from Rank 3 to Rank 2 right now.
Did it not already do so on your end? Does it not go into effect until next Tuesday or something? I’ve never received a DHK so I don’t know how they work. Thought it was an immediate derank though.

When I got my DHK it de-ranked me immediately in the honor window.

If I am not mistaken, it’s because you were at 3 and 0.00% and went down to 2 and 99.99%.

Yeah I got my first last night trying to get DMF in a raid. They seriously need to just remove dhks. They’ve done a great job making the PvP system better and then for some reason decide to keep this terrible feature in game, especially in PvP hotspots like around DMF and near zoram in the PvP event (not sure about alliance ones but I’m sure there’s some poorly placed civilians for them too).
In a season where wpvp is such a big feature I don’t know why they can’t just take them out. Even if it effects era, I doubt anyone on era is going to rage that hard if civilians are removed from their game too.

If you were R2 you would’ve needed 4500 to get R3. If you got a DK and you dropped to R1 98% your honor requirement from R1 is now considered 11500 to hit R3.
This happened to me and it was really frustrating. I made a post about it.
So… if I’m rank 3, what does that mean? I drop to R2 and 98% and just have to kill a few people to get my rank back? The honor window really doesn’t display any useful information besides the fact that I deranked. I’m currently sitting at rank 2 with a red bar filling the whole honor bar.

The solution was always to make important quest NPCs untargetable. And they did that in some cases. And just randomly left others as prime griefing aids. It’s time for them to completely remove DKs from the game and finish the job of keeping those important quest givers out of the WPVP experience.

Yeah for sure, I’d be more than fine with quest givers being untargetable, there’s no benefit to anyone but griefers having them both targetable and killable. People can grief both factions with ease having them in. So pointless.

In order to re-get Rank 3, you should probably farm a minimum of 4.5k honor this week to be safe.

Nope you are considered to be entirely R2 now. Might as well be 0%. I was R2 and got 4500 honor in one week solo pvping in the open world. One DHK put me into R1 98% and that was enough to completely invalidate all my progress. I had to grind up to 11500 to hit R3 from R1 98%. So what happened is I stayed put and my 4500 honor only put me at R2 0%. 2% worth of progress lol. You will need 4500 honor in a single week to get R3 again.

From what I read in other posts it looks like a DK is about -5% progress. Taking that as right, the reason you derank to rank2 is that most ppl are sitting at rank 3 and 0.00 so with a DK you ll be rank 2 and 95%. But if yo are rank 2 and 55% lets say, with 1 DK you should just go down to rank 2 and 50%.

It’s time we call for DHKs to be removed from the game. They only cause grief for unintended parties and they have no tangible effect on securing the levelling experience. I’d argue someone getting corpse camped 11 times back to back is probably more damaging to player retention than some NPC disappearing for a couple of minutes.
