Just hit 50 for the first time. I’m coming over from elysium from a few years back. First time on this expansion. What should I be doing in preparation for SL? Someone told me to get my BofA reps to friendly. If so why? What else should I do?
Thank you.
Honestly? Probably just gear up to a reasonable ilvl to make levelling in SL a bit easier, and then do whatever else you want to whether that’s quests, dungeons, raids, reps, alts etc.
Short of a few mounts (AH mount being removed, and Mythic raid mount drop chance reduced as usual) and some essence sparkles, there’s nothing being taken away or made more difficult to obtain in SL.
Maybe try out the different specs in content and see which you like the feel of to play in SL (turn of dps meters, because so much relies on Azerite and essences).
What considered a decent I’ll going into SL?
90 ilvl and higher, also get some essences and azerite gear.
I have one piece of azerite gear.
Practice for Season 1: mythic keys, raid, and arenas. If you’re a casual player, maybe do some mount/pet/transmog/toy/achievement collecting, or level another class.
Getting friendly with all three of your main reputation factions is the requirement for unlocking world quests on all level 50 characters on your account. It took me about an hour to hit that point after level cap
Should these be things I’m doing now or will they essentially reset in SL at 60?
Don’t worry about gearing right now, the prepatch event starts on the 10th and will give level 100 catchup gear.
Id spend the time doing a really thorough job setting up your UI/addons, practicing your rotation, reading up on how to optimally play your class, stuff like that. Level an alt or work on a transmog if that interests you.
This seems like best path forward.
Work on Pathfinding (so you can fly); that will take you awhile and get you some gear and some play time with your spec. It’s also a meaningful goal to work towards since it’s account wide and will benefit any other characters you bring through BFA content.
