So you can do 10 attempts an hour but I was able to get it fast enough to get 10 in 20-25 minutes.
First being a shaman or druid or class with a permanent run speed boost is needed.
Second, stack the Longstrider ability on all 3 azerite pieces. Combine this with a 3% and 5% run speed gem on two of your sockets (just make a couple green rings if you need to). This will put your base speed up around 175%.
Third: Gunshoes will boost your speed up to 375% all the way to the first boss. You can avoid all trash mobs by going around or in between them and they are relatively easy to make if you have an engineer. There is a 3 minute cooldown, so in between that you can use various swiftness potions for the run you do while you wait for the gunshoes to CD.
It took me 185 attempts (very unlucky according to Rarity) but I finally got the drake If you’re bored or have put off trying for this drake, I recommend trying this.

Cata was a nice expansion.
I still need the mount that drop from the drake in Deepholm, but only luck. I have not seen this drake in years…
Isn’t Aonaxx 100% drop rate? I simply have never seen him spawned lol.

I’m actually not 100% sure but I believe in Shadowlands (so 11 days because prepatch is essentially SL with new content locked) the neck explodes! and azerite traits don’t work anymore.
This should still work come prepatch but be aware

I got that mount on my first random Cataclysm LFD dungeon ever back in Cata.
I didn’t even know it was a rare drop back then lol
On the other hand I’m still farming Warden Paragon Caches for the Warden toy lol
