Like, sometimes you can mess people up with really good CC but in general you’re never going to scratch anybody in a caster lobby without a mortal strike.
Wins in those types of games are usually something whacky like menace shouting the healer off the bridge and leaping down to bolt/piercing while his teammate doesn’t notice and lines and your guy scores the kill.
I can always rely on hoping they just DC or forget how to play
prot just spreads dots and rots whole teams. even casters have trouble.
root speccing with 2 SR and spell blocks pretty troll in those lobbies
i had a balance and mage comp going against and they couldnt really scratch me with the defensives i had rolling and demoral just yeeting their goes out the window
now with 2 set and last stand being off CD more often its a huge defensive but in melee lobbies its 100% a win as well since bodyguard just keeps slams rolling and last stand to a 20 sec CD basically
Dot damage is good but the games feel too short for it to matter.
Posts like this just always fill me with hope and inspiration. And knowledge.
In bunga mmr games people often train whatever they see and start hitting first so you can sometimes bait people to hit you as prot by pushing forward and/or allowing yourself to dip low a few times to give them the idea that you can die. 
Often, though, you’re just ignored so gotta make sure you’re maximizing cc/peel value.
This is emotionally difficult for me because of all the time I spent getting trained last season as Enhancement. But good advice I will also take as I exist in the world of low mmr
Prot games are kind of annoying because they’re low enough that you might auto-win going the hunter but because the hunter starts in camo your partner just walks into the enemy disc and presses every offensive cd in the first 8 seconds of the match and you lose a lot of pressure. 
Imagine you’re in the hospital dying of cancer or something but you’re kept alive and fairly well by a hulking Chad with a sword and shield SCREAMING into your ear every half a minute.
He’s too angry to die, and you are too.
Prot War / Aff Lock / MW is a real 3s comp right now. Its really good.
Prot Pal with Aff is probably viable too.
aff atm is really good with any spec and specs with a MS aff just rips apart
prot just adds onto the dot pool with 4-5 additional dots with warlocks making healing just brutal as warlock dots just rip them apart
The trick to prot war is to craft a 450 dagger and run devastator.

I mean sure, I guess if you’re intent on playing as a warrior. Top Prot right now is in the 1660 range? Kinda rough. I let mine go to instead play my Guardian this season as I just didn’t feel I had enough agency as a Prot War. The burst is okay but the overall damage is so so, Intervene/Body Guard/Demo Shout seemed to only made a difference some of the time, and my potential to CC is pretty abysmal.
