You would have to make so many drastic changes for high elves to be a core race, and you know it.
Its why the Allied race option exists in the first place.

oh definitely. i’m a proponent for what i think of as the half elf retcon. retcon the lore to say the majority of the silver covenant are mostly half elves to one degree or another.
Why add another elves which there is already of those types out there. Nah man, lets give them a different color and name them dark elves night elves, blood elf, high elves, seems legit there. Good job boys and girls, you made another new race by recoloring the race and labeling them into different race which they basically look the same.
but I mean, you see them in EPL, Hinterlands, Dalaran, Theramore etc.
Probably more Alliance Highelf npc representation than some of the allied races you see on the alliance
this whole thing is fixable if they make bloodelves (newly created) a neutral race like the pandaren, have people do a quest line and then CHOOSE faction
Why not just develop the existence of half races? Just going “screw it” and making a faction now half elves is not a good move.

I will not have it be reduced to only blood elves.
The ENTIRE GAME should allow players to interact between factions. Choose what matters to them.
The player character is the champion of Azeroth, we should be able to team up with whoever we damn well please.
PvE should not have faction restrictions. they are nonsense.

there’d be no limit to that. They may as well just increase customization options of the existing races.
IMO, some of the allied races were a mistake (like come on, do we really need lightforged draenei? highmountain tauren? mechagnomes?) no! just give more customization options
Then the alliance would need big eyes with red lips orc that looks exactly like this,
its a brilliant move. it adds the alliance high elf lore to a playable race without having to use the thalassian model. they actual look like elves since they’d have shorter elf ears and shorter elf eyebrows… i mean honestly, wow elf ears are like rabbits and their eyebrows flap in the wind.
Like I said, its basically recolored characters. They all look the same with those long pointy ears and different look. Blood elves and Night elves are almost basically the same, just different faction.
Head down to the Drag in Orgrimmar and ask for Peacebloom, you’ll get what you need.

i want high gnomes and high mechagnomes. this is what we really want on alliance. and our core race vulpera needs to return. they and the high elves founded stormwind
oh my. you have a night elf char? the female have hands the size of dinner plates. and their calves are the size of a male wrestler. those ladies put the amaz-ingly athletic in amazon women. and female humans have large forearms, no wrists and tiny hands. belfs are the only female models that somewhat approach realistic proportions even if they are a little thin

Blood Elves look like Anorexic barbie dolls.

I actually recommend you look at Female Orcs who have surprisingly down to earth proportions for a Video Game
