I didn’t realize they nerf’d the prepatch event with the ghouls. though I can understand some tuning needed to be done, a complete neutering wasn’t really called for imho. I realize others may feel differently however here is the main question I’m asking my fellow wow players;
Blizz mentioned they will support wow until 2025
is this the kind of game we will deal with for the next 5 years? ? ? if so, can you see yourself continuing until the end?
this is by no means a blizz hate thread or anything, just kinda disappointed about the nerf. thought this would be chaos like the WOTLK pre patch.

I hate to say it but it does kind of seem that way. again I acknowledge it was a bit much in pre patch but the complete neutering of it really negates the point. I mean why have one when there is no real impact on the world?

Blizz said that they would not force pvp on players. The event as originally introduced force people into pvp mode and griefing was rampant. You could not complete the quests without pvp, so the majority of people on the ptr complained violently, just like the WOTLK prepatch. They didn’t want to have to lure players back.

again I acknowledged some of the problems but you can’t call it a “scourge invasion” and have the “invasion” part be optional or not present at all so answer my question WHY have one at all?

Only 2025? Damn. I hope they have a replacement MMO cooking.

I saw a forbes article or soemthing of the like back in the pandaria or WOD days with the current activision head saying they plan on supporting it until 2025 and will reassess it at that time. of course I can’t find the article now if I do I’ll post it here though still looking.
Yeah and they said they had like 7-8 expansions more planed isnt ? I remember that post too.

Yeah you ain’t wrong there. Maybe I’m a bit late to the party but I just found out about it and I am extremely saddened to say the least. I was really looking forward to the chaos for a few days
In other words, if it’s still the cash-cow that it is now, they will support it until it isn’t.

The whole event is embarrassing.
Revert the nerfs and put it into Warmode exclusively.
That way it’s fun like it was when I tested it on PTR and opt-in so nobody can complain they get killed.
Back in Classic 2004-2007, I used to pull invulnerable mobs from Blasted Lands into Stormwind, and even the elite dragons from Hinterlands all the way to Ironforge, just to make events for people, because Blizzard refused to make events.
The Wrath of the Lich King prepatch Scourge Event was some of the most fun in the game many of us had, and it showed the true dangers of Lich King Arthas. This new ghoul event that we’re apparently getting before Shadowlands needs to be similar, and even worse in fact, since it will the Undead Scourge without a leash, without the Helm of Domination controlling them.
It has to be chaotic. If it isn’t, then what’s to fear? King Terenas words of “there must always be a lich king” were completely false and fear mongering.

I miss Kiting that World Dragon from the Darkshire to Goldshire - I might have goofed on the name but anywho

Kind of agree. Pre-expansion events are supposed to be the impetus that sends us heroes to “x”. If it doesn’t feel like a threat, then what’s the point lore-wise?
