Everyone agrees these are the two most repetitive races that really are niche and just more of the same from their core.
Every other AR is at least more different.
-Zandalari and Kul’Tirans have different models
-Mag’har have priests, Orcs have warlocks these are not compatible with each others’ culture.
-Dark Iron have the same classes as other dwarves but also a ton of fire effects that make them distinctly looking.
-Nightborne are horde and have Warlocks. Velves are Alliance.
-Mechagnomes have different animations all around and mostly different models.
LF and Highmountain have the same classes as their core race save a few. And it is very very unlikely they could ever get any class to distinguish themselves with.
Shaman and Monk shouldn’t really be a problem for LF to get. They aren’t evil classes.
Paladin, Priest Shouldn’t be a problem for HM either since they are so fond of an’she.
So really just fold them in and make them customization options. Players lost nothing and we all just gain more customization for our characters.
“But what about the unlocking quests and mounts and so?”
The unlocking should remain, but we don’t unlock separate races, instead all of the options. The tabard should be part of the heritage.
“But what about racials”
Don’t remove them, but let the characters choose their racial. Zandalari and Vulpera can do that pretty much, why couldn’t Tauren and Draenei?
“What about the heritage?”
It should be given once you level a tauren or draenei from 1 to 50 after you unlock the customization.
“But what about voice lines?”
Give these races the “voice box” customization option where they can choose which of the voice sets they want to use.
Also give them titles. “Highmountain” and “Lightforged” for those who still want to strongly denote their race.
Doesn’t matter if they are fond of An’she, the entire reason normal Tauren have those classes is because they looked to the Night Elves and wanted to balance their worship similar to how the Night Elves do with Elune. The Highmountain didn’t have that realization, and therefore never decided to delve into the Light.
Normal Draenei only got Shaman because the Red Mist took away their access to the Light from some individuals and devolved them into Broken. Lightforged never had that happen, and therefore never needed to find an alternative faith/source of power.
Kinda , it was actually because the orcs stopped listening to the elements so the elements decided to contact the broken. Anyway, however the LF intro questline shows that normal draenei are becoming lightforged, like T’Paartos. Therefor normal draenei shaman could lightforge, same as monks.
That happened to a few Draenei. They then went and trained unbroken Draenei to become shamans. Kinda goes to show that anyone can learn the lessons of the elements if they are willing.
It might sound funny but I am still in support of glowing tints on the highmountain antlers just to make them special. If we’re going to get new appearances for the allied races, we should push for this.
No, Tauren became paladins precisely because they were only learning from night elves, and decided to do the opposite of night elves for balance.
Tauren paladins are a big proof that night elves just not being into the paladin thing because tauren became so to b diametrically opposed to night elven practices.
If you go through the Paladin questlines in Legion, (Kinda annoyed that you need to do every class but at the same time it was nice making each classes playthough a little different) you get to see a Night Elf Priest get converted into a Paladin.
But yet the class has never opened up. Not that I think they should be allowed. But I am bothered that other races suddenly delvelope them, and Night Elves’s can’t?
