The player base is never in charge of these decisions. It’s delusional to think otherwise. It’s easy for me to tell people who’ve lived through corporation layoffs and those who haven’t.
We may get Lore back doing the CM responses. We may get someone who had been moved to another position back, or have an actual administration type do it. Or we may get no one at all. We can’t say right now.
“Dennis Durkin, Activision Blizzard’s new chief financial officer, is getting a bonus worth $15 million for taking the job. The award consists of $11.3 million of stock and an additional $3.75 million in funds. That’s in addition to a $900,000 salary and a $1.35 million target bonus.”
That breaks down as over 11 million in stock, most likely options that will vest on a set schedule for the next couple of years, plus over 5 million in cash (the “funds” and “bonus”) and a nearly million dollar annual salary.
Just check the Baby Yak’s twitter, and he confirms he was let go today, that it wasn’t his choice, but he isn’t going to say more right now, for obvious reasons.
Gonna miss the snarky Baby Yak, and I will officially retire the Snark-O-Meter in his honor.
Also, RIP to “improved communications” from Blizzard, as we can now all see that that commitment isn’t worth the electrons it takes to show it on our screen.
You want a gaming company to be socialist? That is communism. The reason why millenials are for that is simply ignorance. Spoiler: you don’t bring the bottom up by tearing down the top.
The optics of that stink high heaven worse than Forsaken flatulence. It reminds me of what the banks up here in Canada did over 10 year ago. They reported record profits yet hiked the bank charges and laid off some branch tellers.
No. OP did not say “sign on bonus”. OP said that Blizzard gave 15 million dollars to him.
I dont know why getting mad at blizzard makes it so hard to get basic facts right. If you want to get mad that he is getting stock options 1-2 years from now based on incentives. Get mad. Just get mad at something accurate.
I believe that, when your main business task is customer communication, you should do that without being a dbag. That hasnt been the trend for many blizzard cms. You are more than welcome to white knight the heck out of the company, but at least be honest and admit that he had a snarky side that a fair amount of people felt was very unpleasant.
