The gap between full Wrathful and starter gear is actually huge, we just can’t see it because there is no ilvl.

I don’t eat Kellog’s Frosted Egotistic Cereal. I suppose to those type of players it makes sense, but not to a lot of us.

Gear gave you an advantage yeah, but not to the extent it does now. You could still actually play in Wrath.

You often see the recommendation in the forums that you should do rated PvP to gear up for randoms.

If you’re going to do random bg’s to level as a fresh 60 at this point, you need to be prepared to get stomped for a while. Even you when rank everything to 197, you’re still going to get stomped. It’s too late to gear that way.

Facts. You can be a underwear champion on any classes as long you wielded a weapon and still do damage.

In order to succeed you would need a lot of versatility and high ranking PvP gear will assist in that.

But starting off in casual PvP is the best way to get started.

Nothing stops you from doing that, but it’s not going to go well. You’re going to get matched up with people in 220+ gear. Even a terrible pvper like me isn’t going to have much trouble with you. Unfortunately you’ll have to do other content until you gear up a bit or avoid 1v1’s at all costs.

Off topic, I’m amazed we went through all of WoD without anyone trying to use the wordplay of ‘Killrogg’s Cornflakes’.

On topic, out of curiosity, if you have 20% verse from gear largely other then pvp sources, how do you usually stand up in randoms in general? Like, is the 20% what matters the most, or do you still get taken behind the woodshed?
