Just do it and accept the consequences

True enough. The direction I would like to see the game go is clearly not one this team is willing - or capable - of designing.

This is an interesting comment because it’s kind of true. I really don’t care if other players fly, but as long as I need to do all the quests and all the rep for flight, I’m grounded permanently. So if they ditched flight I wouldn’t even feel it, oh noes it would take an extra 30 seconds to go from the portal room to the AH.

I kind of wish they’d get rid of it just to see what happens, then when they see subs dip they could reintroduce it proper and make a big deal out of adding it back in. Or if it didn’t hurt subs, whatever, leave it out, they aren’t creative enough to do anything interesting with it anymore anyway. They can’t design flying-necessary content when over half of players don’t fly, go figure.

I play a lot of cash shop supported games, and zero of them sell gear; weapons, character boosts (except WoW) or any other in-game advantage. 99% of these cash shop items are cosmetic (mounts, pets, costumes, appearances) and the remaining 1% are items like health pots or experience scrolls.

Have yet to find an online MMO where you literally could buy your “win.”

Even if flight totally were totally removed in all zones this game would still not be a 2D world. You don’t understand what 2D really means. Given that you don’t understand what a 2D game is I don’t believe you have the qualifications to claim you know what would be the cheapest route of development for the game.

I haven’t really played other games much in the last few years and I have bought a few titles on Steam over the holidays.

The more I play them, the madder I get at Blizzard. Other developers don’t appear to be trying to piss off their players. Other developers listen to feedback and make adjustments according to it. Other developers don’t make statements like “you think you do, but you don’t”.

Other developers don’t tell their players that the players are playing their game wrong, or that their play style goes against their vision. Other developers care about losing players.

So Blizzard can keep making decsisons like they been, and eventually, they won’t have anyone playing their game wrong or going against their vision.

Their won’t be anyone left at all, and Blizzard will become a 100% mobile app developer, catering exclusively to China. That seems to be their goal, and 12+ year players like myself who have invested thousands of dollars into this game will simply have moved on.

So you’re trying to say that you bought some games on the winter sale that’s still going on and you believe you are capable of forming an opinion on the history of these development companies after a few days of gameplay. lol

I haven’t read that in years, but thanks for reminding me. For those of you confused by the “mudwimping” comment, read this and see that someone described exactly what is wrong with WoW 2019 back in 1997.

Definitely google it since we can’t link things here and read the page titled “The Mud Whimping Guidebook.”

Is this what you mean?

Oh, ouch, all of that sounds…painfully familiar.

(I assume you were referring to the below link; it was the first hit I got on Google.)

Squaresoft NEVER treated their customers this way in fact that’s why a realm reborn was created

When they first launched FFIV it was full of bugs glitches and crashed constantly among other problems the game world was full of so many problems but did they just say pfft tthe players wont gripe theyll learn to deal with it

Nope they shut down the game and rebuilt it from scratch and relaunched it along with a personal message from the president of Square personality apologizing to the fans WITHOUT being condescending

When’s the last time anyone from Blizzard did something even remotely close to an apology that wasnt meant to be damage control in the aftermath of a bad situation they originally caused?

Yeah but it wouldn’t let me paste that link.

Yeah, you have to obtain a certain “trust level” to be able to post external links. Leave it to Blizzard to require a forum grind.

So long as I got the right link.

I think my rep with Blizzard is probably hostile at this point, if not straight up aggro.

LOL… has more to do with number of posts, topics, time served on the forums, etc. LOL

I’ve read the mud whimping guidebook before and yeah it’s eerily reminiscent of what has been happening in WoW for several years now.

Certain things stand out a lot. Especially the part about factionalization.

I thought what stood out strongest was that the terms Immortals used to prune their games is exactly what Ion and his crew have said.

At this point they may as well kill flying.

and how many players leave; then if they really have the stone they could release those figures.

Well they tried once it didnt get the positive reaction they expected so now they’re trying to slowly make it so terrible players will give up thus Blizzard can try again but no one will care about it

Can you explain what you get out of making a post like this? What urge does internet pedantry satisfy?
