Just came back and tried the new (restored) roll system

Leaders are gonna build their groups with that in mind. No sense stacking leather when there’s a possibility leather doesn’t drop.

Tbf, feels is what makes or breaks the game for a lot of people.

It felt awful trying to get alts up to serviceable level in 9.0 and 9.1, so I quit

Honestly, at least for me, I think being able to see it does make it feel a little bit worse. I already know it’s pretty much the same thing, but ever since I’ve been able to see the roll it feels like I’m getting less loot. I’ve got 0 data to back that up but it feels that way

And honestly, i see that as a good part of the system.

Though is it needed in LFR? Probably not, LFR should really be PL.

Very fair.

Ignorance was bliss I guess.

It is a bad metric, but Eve is 100% within her right to say something feels bad. I disagree with her almost entirely, but this post is fine. :+1:

Quite the mind reader!

(That was sarcasm if you didn’t quite pick that up.)

Or, it’s a slap in the face.

You can say something feels bad if you actual understand what you’re talking about. As usual the amount of misinformation about GL is present in yet another thread.

Answered here…

But missing the point again…

I get that the vast majority of these posts are from LFR players and they tend to be the most misinformed posters btu this is becoming exhausting.

With PL, you rolled against the raid nd then were randomly assigned a usable item. GL doesn’t care about group composition. I get next to no loot from GL.

Misinformation isn’t terribly relevant when her point is she doesn’t enjoy it, simply put. There isn’t some ridiculous explanation, no mental gymnastics trying to get you to hate it too. Just her opinion, and a call to action toward Blizzard.

Just another poster who doesn’t understand how PL or the new GL work.

It’s 100% relevant. If someone e doesn’t understand how both PL and GL works they can’t understand the basic differences then they don’t have a valid opinion at all.

I have not been in any instances since the new loot system has been out.

I think I have gotten all the gear I am ever going to get in this expansion.

I am really stuck on doing nothing but Daily Quests at this time and I do not see that changing for Dragonflight.

PL had many changes since WOD. Blizzard stated they didn’t like the gear stacking that was occurring in SL so PL was taking into consideration gear types, i.e. if you went in with 20 leather wearers and they would only get leather gear as drops - there would be no plate gear.

If this were trying to be informative or at all transformative to others’ opinions, you would be correct. However, this is an opinion. Full stop.

I mean, really the only changes to it was the amount of loot you got.

At first it was just fully personal, you could have 25 people get loot, you could have 0 get loot.

Then they added a ceiling and floor but it still had some randomness.

By the end though it was set, you got 2 pieces at 10 and then it increased in a % up to every 5 from from there, so 11 would be 2 and 1/5th, etc.

They’ve never changed what was dropped though, PL has always and will always favor stacking.

and that is why GL is terrible because it doesn’t consider the gear composition of the group. Plate wearers win with GL because less of them typically in a raid.

It’s kind of a shame. I’m fine with people having differing opinions, even if they don’t agree with mine, but people trying to invalidate my own just because they don’t agree with it is just childish so I just stop replying to them :woman_shrugging:

This will be my last post to this topic. Have a good day everyone!
