Just bought a new card...how will I fare?

Did you not look at the one I linked?

Its not 150. Its 120

If you are willing to consider the 5600x, you could get away with something much more modest cooler like a Scythe Fuma 2 - if you’re just playing WoW there really won’t be a huge difference between an equally clocked 5600x and a 5900x and so on.

they already bought the 5800x. its a fantastic CPU it just needs good cooler

Dude… Is that pc on carpet?

That’s a danger waiting to happen

So much of the other regulars not pointing this out

Eh, I don’t think there’s too much danger in static - probably just bad thermals and dust.

Personally I use these monitor things for my system on the floor:

They’re for monitors, but they are a bit higher than the ones they usually sell for towers. Plus, they have holes on the bottom for better airflow.

That is an old pic from when I first powered it on. It sits on a wooden board with wheels. It would be just fine even if it was though. Its hard to tell in the picture but it sits 1 inch above the ground when not on the board. This is a case that would be “OK” on carpet. Id never do it but it would be ok. I always tell people if it “Needs” to be on the floor put an antistatic rug under it or some type of board. Like I did. Dont place it directly on the carpet.

I like that! I have one of these, mainly becuase its easy to move around to vacuum under

It will not let me include links in my post, but I can try another way.

Just change the comma to a period before com.

Any suggestons?

I have a 1080p monitor and my pc is like 10 years old and it runs wow at like 100 frames and like 70 in raids

I’m using a GTX680 and I can’t even remember the rest of the specs

My laptop is a few years old and it still runs wow on 100 frames…but on 2 settings. lol

I always find these posts amusing - my son’s 9400 w/RX 570 at 1080p doesn’t run the game that great, even on a 5 setting. And it’s well faster than a 10 year old PC.

It gets old, tbh. This game is very demanding on both components, especially in the new zones. Ardenweld is a bloodbath for lesser systems.

Great picks. I’m assuming that you are using your existing GPU and not buying a GTX 1660 S at that crazy price point, right? Given that the market right now sucks for GPU, this is going to be your new system’s bottleneck. Run with what you have until you can get a current gen GPU (3000 series or the 6000 series).

One of the guys asking for recommendations bought Alienware Aurora R12.

I just can’t get past the look of the thing - the whole front end looks like a giant usbc port

At least the price isn’t silly. Its closer to MSRP.

I don’t have an existing GPU. I’m ok with spending the money on my first card. Biden took care of that for me lol

If you’re going to overpay for a GPU, at least overpay for a new, current one. Paying MSRP for an old card already feels bad enough, overpaying for it is worse.

The problem is I can’t even overpay for a current gen card. This card has great reviews and will be enough for what I need.

I had the 3700x water cooled and over clocked with the amd 5700xt gpu I got 230+ FPS in 1080p open world and 120-160 in raids and instances on slider 7 with max distance on 3 and water/shadows on low

I run wow on high settings with ultra particle effects and lvl 10 view distace/clutter/objects ect just fine unless it’s a world boss…rip

I get 45 to 120 fps mostly constant except world bosses.

Specs:

Windows 10 pro
