Just another bug or cloak of shadows wont work within shadowy duel?

Its just another of the MANY rogue bugs or cloak of shadows wont save u from shadowy duel?
Cause i think it happened to me twice already.

What do you mean save you? like the pvp talent that makes it so it gives you 100% dodge chance? Cloak won’t remove shadowy duel (nothing removes it as far as I’m aware, not even ice block or paladin bubble).

The enemy rogue also has access to all their stealth abilities during shadowy duel. Stealth abilities can’t be avoided even with 100% dodge, so cheap shot will go right through cloak (this also goes through evasion). Once stunned you can no longer dodge either so you can easily die through cloak.

Cloak just provides resistance to magic but not fully immune after removing the initial parts. Veil provides evasion but as bud said about cheap shot (same with storm bolt / shockwave / chaos nova / imprison / strangulate as other examples of sone abilities ) cannot be dodged. Cloak will resist the shadow damage from abilities though. You either dismantle/ gouge / burn a blind/ or stun them back.

Or team mates just use AOE effects to stop it such as

  • Paladin / dk disorient , leg sweep , infernal stun , shadow crash stun thing from warlocks (can’t remember the name atm), incapacitor totem from shaman , evoker deep breath (skill shot but can be done) a large list of stuff.

The rogue still has to use cds in duel to do anything, base stealth abilities aren’t going to be threatening.

  • Team mates can also use aoe healing abilities such as radiance from priest and dome of light to mitigate, a monk can still use restoral as well. Keep practicing and don’t give up dude!

They removed that with 10.2.7. So, pvp talent Veil of Midnight now only additionally removes physical effects.

Bet they still dont fix cloak of shadows though to remove and keep off magical snares. Sh#$ is still broken months later.

Yep its gone, I saw that as well but nothing we can do about it. I dont care as long as we can just do damage and the anti rogue propaganda is ignored finally. PvE in pvp has got to end in TWW and moving forward.

Other classes gained some neat stuff in this alpha build and increased defense and other toys (mage sunfury gravity bomb stun thing as an example). Not a complaint and im all about providing options for people to do cool stuff… just stop turning us into stun bots to alley oop for team mates. Go after the pve parsing classes instead of all 3 rogues that rely on stuns, positioning, conditions, and dedicated windows such as dance.

Mass disentegrate pulling a death star is cool for them but don’t penalize us because some kid wants to trinket sap in 2024 and leave goofy tuning about rogues when the sobe lizard just nuked a whole team and tokyo drift mega zord kamehameha’d a warrior who wanted to get handsy being too aggressive.

Bring on all the cool stuff for any other class, just stop penalizing rogues over whatever fabricated pipe dream people screech about.

The problem is that contrary to popular belief from non Rogue players Rogues are not that common in PVP.

So as a result the Rogue player population is tiny and thus BlizZard doesn’t dedicate the same resources as they do for Paladins or Warriors which are very popular classes.

Let me add with this nerf this hits Assassination really hard.

Sub and Outlaw still can function without the PVP talent that was Veil of Midnight.

Whats funny is on WoWhead, i assume the notes were buggy but made it seem like it was an assassination only change. But looking at the talent itself on the 10.2.7 PTR page, it shows for all specs. I assume the page that showed the assassin only change is just incorrectly edited.

I need to check out what all the other classes are getting

it is a broken ability, straight up
