My idea is to combine timewalking/ invasions/ and world quests and implement that across all expansions.
For example you would open your map an pick an area, lets say northrend. On the map are world quests/ scourge invasions/ a time walking dungeon (or a dungeon with extra xp if not at level cap). All players that participate are sharded to be around the same level as the other people if playing solo. You can group with lower level players but they will take an xp hit to prevent power leveling ( only applies if the person is 6 or more levels above)
Rewards can be gold/xp, gear suitible for that level (for max level its on par with heroic dungeons), and tokens for pets/ mounts/ and transmog.
I know this is hastily thought of and would definitely need tweaks/ balancing…but i think it would create a more lively world and give reason to go to previous expansions.

The fact that “incursions” in this massive world war the two superpowers are waging with each other only take place on two small islands and in no way involve the many other vital territories of the alliance and horde is a thing that has irked me from the outset. Involving the rest of the world would do something to at least make other parts of the world feel alive from time to time. Hell, it worked with the pre-legion event.
World events are a thing that just need to happen more, period.

Huge fan of the idea. I’d prefer permanent, game-wide timewalking. But incursions sound like a great idea to keep it lore friendly. “What are we doing back here? Oh. Horde.”
Plain and simple. I like it. And it would really spice up leveling.
I think (with the right lore) we could even have other types of incusions.
For example a part of the legion is still fighting in areas trying to re-establish a burning legion.
I don’t know the lore well enough to agree or contest that. Didn’t we like royally trounce them on Argus? I’d imagine a more likely thing would be us being sent to legion-worlds to remind them who beat them into this submission.

Back on topic, i dont know the lore well enough either. I was just throwing it out there so the incursions are not just horde v alliance.
You highlight a sentence or paragraph with your mouse, when you’re done highlighting the button to quote should appear just above your highlight.
Ah, yeah. That could be fun too. And would keep it consistant across expansions.

But i dont mind the idea of hord v alliance popping up across all expansions. IF they were to implement the idea i think the current expansion gets dibs on the incursions.

I love the idea. I personally would like if blizzard made use of all the abandoned fortress’ across azeroth. Made them contestable like the hellfire peninsula or EPL towers. For example, the abandoned keep in Silverpine.
This one. Obviously, this is just a flavour example of me fighting in Fenris Keep, but Shadowfang Keep, Fenris Keep, Stromgarde. The ruined fortress in Alterac. Lots of potential actual strongholds for the alliance and horde to fight over.
We’ve got a warfront in Arathi, so Stromgarde isn’t the best example.
Using the old forts is a great idea! That would give pvpers something too!
