It’s obvious you cant keep up with banning bots, you do a big ban wave and a couple of weeks later they are all back on new accounts.
For there to be this many it means that many classic players are buying gold.
You might as well just add tokens so those of that don’t want to break the rules can buy gold too.
No thanks. Not now, not ever.
Some players buy gold, most players would buy tokens.
No thanks.
You realize the system is basically already in place don’t you?
It’s just that the money goes elsewhere and it is dishonest people buying.
If you’re going to whine about bots and request fixes, why not instead request they use our $15 to hire GMs?
^^^^^^^^^^
If they add tokens to classic wow. It will end up getting to the point that
if you do not purchase tokens, you will not be able to afford anything.
Everyone will start selling all items as if everyone has a unlimited
gold supply.
tokens are already in game - it’s called retail.
This didn’t happen in retail. The cost of the token is ultimately linked to the monetary value of your in game time farming gold. A lot of time played decisions are made on this basis even without tokens.
Would people pay $20.00 for a token that only sells for 1-2k in classic?
If they aren’t scaled down they’ll ruin the economy, but if they are scaled down, will people find them valuable or worth it? Especially when you look over at retail and see a token for 150k vs a few thousand ?
They are dealing with bots. Otherwise the game would be completely unplayable without trading retail gold for classic. The prices of many things clearly show that they are dealing with bots, except they don’t deal with them immediatly. Some say it’s because of something called subscription refund window, others say it’s because they want to do more than just ban the accounts(they have relationships that need to be dealt with as well).
Trading retail gold for classic is perfectly fine according to this reputable source(I mean it’s still up so surely they’d address the thread if it wasn’t):
That said classic is a publicity stunt, and adding a token would not do a great job keeping people from going back to alternative servers out of principle(ingame shops, tokens ruin the overall feel of the game).
In retail they did not “just add tokens” to solve the bot problem. Blizzard never did that, because doing that would not solve anything.
They created 2 kinds of tokens at the same time, and linked their prices and availabality. One was a gold-for-dollars token. One was a submonths-for-gamegold token.
Which cannot be done in Classic, since there are no subscriptions.
WIthout both, it would have turned into a “pay dollars to win” game with runaway inflation in it. Is that what you want Classic to become? Maybe you do. But I don’t, and Blizzard doesn’t.
Classic has built in runaway inflation, the gold supply is endless and the number of gold sinks are very few. Once you’ve bought your epic mount, you can expect nearly all the gold you produce through normal gameplay to be cycled through the player economy. This economy inflates because there is nothing that permanently removes new gold from the system.
Tokens are one of the few ways Blizzard can deflate the economy. By selling game time for gold and then never selling the gold. They quietly started using tokens for this purpose when they stopped making you physically buy tokens that another player posted on your realm auction house. If you don’t want run away inflation and a more stable game economy as classic ages, you actually do prob want tokens.
Cool just put in shop packages filled with raid consumables that we can buy with irl money hell yea no gold no tokens just a package of consumables!!! Also make them all bop so you can’t trade em yea boi!
