so i love pvp and i dont mind being ganked hey its the nature of being a on pvp server. but i just need to let off a little steam. to the gankers that go and get 30 levels on player and proceed to corpse camp them. you arnt badass for being an annoyance. your pathetic for being so scared that the area might team up to deal with you that you have to run around in a pack of 3 and your scumbags for using spy to track and hunt down the players that stand no chance to you. if anyone else needs to rant feel free to use this thread

I hate it when I buy an egg and bacon baguette and the egg to bacon ratio is like 5:1.
If I wanted an egg baguette with essence of bacon I would order that.

Spy is a scummy mod used by plebeians who cannot track and hunt the opposite faction themselves.
You can rest assured that the players using spy to track you down will be of a low quality and more likely to rage when you kill them instead.
i honestly don’t really have a issue with spy the problem is it’s to easy to abuse ie a pack of 50 using it to hunt level 20s like i said i like ganks and i generally don’t mind being ganked just wanted to start a rant thread because well i feel everyone needs a good rant at some point, and pack of 3, 50’s abusing spy really pressed that button hard.
All of this anocdotal evidence kinda proves my point in a way tho.
I don’t really care that people use it, I just look down my nose at them, likely because of the actions of a few, bet hey that’s how life goes.
How do you even know if someone uses it?
People openly say that they do.
generally because the zone becomes unplayable till they leave. spy has a couple of ways of working some will spit out player spotted player x,y in to chat. but as your wondering around it works kinda like sonar that can only see a single kind of thing. once your with in the range of it it will give off a audio alert and bring up the player name which you can click on to target them as well as get their location. so how a group uses it is they spread out far enough to create a massive net and the run back and forth across the zone only coming together once they got a ping.

Im sick of my kids thinking that somehow they know better than I. I’m even more sick of getting in trouble with my wife when i show them how stupid they really are and mock them for their idiocy. So unfair.
So the other player has to be using spy as well?
nope only the player as to have it.
if you want to form the drag net with a party everyone in the party has to have it as well

sigh ok I didnt want to to be an anti spy thread i wanted just a rant thread for people because i dont have a problem with the idea of spy but here we go anyway.
The addon scans the combat log for actions performed by enemy players. If an enemy player is detected the addon will attempt to determine their class, race and level based on the ability that was used. The addon will then sound an alert and add the enemy player to its list.
Spy can be configured to announce enemy player encounters to a chat channel and can also be configured to share data with other Spy users in your party, raid or guild. This allows a group of players to share information and determine the location of enemy players over a vast area.

i dont care that i was ganked the rant was they had a group of three spread out to form a mini drag net using an addon that you only have to be inside combat log range to get marked. just so you know this addon will also alert players when someone goes stealthed when inside the range of it.
the whole idea of the thread was i wanted/ need to blow off steam and anyone else that need to blow of steam could do it here without started up other threads.
I don’t care about being ganked because its the life you live when your on a pvp server. so instead of letting it simmer till i pop and do something stupid like the people who snap and form the ban blizz should ganker threads ( which is idiotic). i had the idea hey lets have a rant., call the unnamed players out on the cowardly stunts they were pulling but not actually have any kind of call to action.
give it a try rant about something that bugs ya just don’t have a call to action it will make you feel better.
