I didn’t watch a lot of the PvP content in current beta, but from the little i’ve seen - is it just me or poly keeps ending way too soon compared to its debuff on the target? I keep seeing mages re-poly every 10 or so seconds to keep the target sitting in polly. why is that?
the longer it is on a PVP target. the more likely it is to break early…
Every few seconds the poly gets a chance to break early if the mages hit rating is too low.
Oh I see. so say 5/5 in the Arcane Focus talent that reduces your opponents chance to resist your arcane spells should make your polly more persistent?
Because it breaks at around 10 seconds. The tooltip will say “60 seconds” but it never lasts anywhere near that long in PvP.
Simply, if you’re the one polymorphed, then it lasts too long.
If you’re the one doing the polymorphing, it’s far too short.
Either way mages too populated.
Yea you’re right. I shall play a balance tank instead! I shall be a legend.
Hail Nez, the Turkey Tank
Could be wrong, but I recall a system that was coined as “Heartbeat Resist” which was a chance for a lot of the longer CCs to break based on RNG on server ticks. Things like fear, poly, sap. This was a player only system. But it explains why someone could have a 40 second poly on them, and break it after 12 seconds or so. Or a fear only lasting half duration with no DoTs on the target.
Just go feral with Starfire spec. Sounds strongk to me. But seriously I do love mages tons of fun. But hate competing for gear like that
