Just a friendly reminder

For those that didn’t know, Bloodsail Buccaneers-NA and Hydraxian Waterlords-EU have recently bumped up to Medium population on the Classic Era realms.

This is due to the Hardcore community coming in and making the place lively.

If you want to come along and join us, get the addon Hardcore on Curseforge and give the run a try. I have met a ton of great people over the last few days and the world really feels alive again. Not to the point of Classic launch standards with queues and lag, but to the point where everything is smooth, you can always see players in the first few zones, and people are always chatting.

We only ask that you abide by one rule.

If you die, you go agane.

Good luck and see you in game. <3

also note that if you want to join the hardcore cult, err sorry i mean community, you will have to submit to a long list of arduous rules. some include no AH use of any kind, no grouping for quests at all except instanced dungeons, and no talking to non-hardcore players.

I’m curious, will HC players actually get mad if I (a non-HC player) follow them around and heal them/give buffs in the open world?

Yes, after its noticeable that its happening they will log off to keep their character’s integrity, or just switch to another alt.

that goes against one of their many, many rules

brb gonna go make a guild dedicated to healing HC players

Y’all seem to have issues with the HC community, any reason?

It is just another way to play. If people don’t wanna do HC they can still roll on the server to be part of a larger classic realm.

It is okay if you personally don’t like the playstyle.

This post is more about the fact that a realm is growing.

And you can absolutely talk to non hardcore players. That rule you just made up.

I just don’t like how HC has taken over the only RP-PVE server when they could have literally gone to any other PVE server , I’d rather the server stay small then become…Whatever this is

I agree. Every month that goes by since last summer the RP server is becoming closer and closer to a PVE server. Heck I’d argue it’s there already outside a handful of guilds and their events.

They should have locked BSB months ago.

I always forget they took over an RP server, i can def get the irritation there. I’ve always been an RP-PvP server player so i’d def probably feel the same if they did it to grobbulus

As someone that mained BSB in Classic I can 100% tell you the place was a ghost town until December. I remember getting excited to see 2 people in Stormwind. I see zero issue when the server population had dwindled so much.

RP events on classic era realms will rotate back around near summer. In the meantime Hardcore is the “big thing”. But even you guys know it has a short life span. I expect it to only last another month or so. Until the next big thing arrives.

Mind you we are talking classic era realms not Wrath era.

I’m just yankin yer chain. I think HC is cool :expressionless:

I’m not sure if you were around in TBC Classic but BSB was still fairly active and you could find all sorts of players to do stuff with. The only dungeon I had any trouble running with people was Gnomeragan.

BSB was perfect, it had just enough population you could do stuff with people, and a small enough population that you saw similar faces every now and then in town. On top of that, people did light roleplay which adds some character to it.

that’s because it takes like 3 hours to run :expressionless:

Not all but there are some that will log to “get away from your griefing” and still others that will fill your chat box with gamer words because you are “griefing” them. Most would simply click off the buffs and continue OR there were some that would whisper to ask that you not do that but not before thanking you nicely. It’s a mixed bag like a lot of other things.

I played BsB in Classic and after it became Era when most moved on to TBCC.
There have been HC players there for all that time and I didn’t mind as long as they did not harass role players. Horde was always a smaller pop than Alliance on that server but both factions were pretty much on board with the live and let live attitude regarding HC players. However there are always outliers.

Not to be snarky but wouldn’t a hardcore challenge be done on a server with a pvp rule set? Seems mediumcore to me tbh

I just started up a HC toon on Bloodsail. Wow, the rules are perfect. If Era ran like this generally- and eliminated AH, character trades. mail, etc., it would eliminate all the exploit crap we have had to put up with for years. We would all be running solo and solving all our own problems. It’s really fun.

lol but no man GRIEFING

Yeah this is why I don’t really groove with the HC thing.
I’m still doing the MMO thing and want to group with or help out others I meet and work together. While I understand they do some things in a group or even raid setting, they don’t work with anyone not doing their HC thing.

Really kinda sad when I tried to barter with some of them not knowing what was limited by the rules to get them crafted items for quests and getting screeched at. I tried to help not exploit and was branded a “griefer”. Why? Really disappointing.

I can’t speak to their behavior in any general sense yet; my character is only level 7 right now. I can understand people being put off by the lack of grouping, trading, and selling; but I have been primarily a solo player since OG Vanilla. I would have friends and guildies - but I was a solitary adventurer and liked it that way. But the HC rules basically render gold nearly useless beyond the very basics of repairs, flights, and some NPC vendor supplies. Gold sales would be non-existent as would be boosts. I would find an entire realm set up by Blizzard with these rules to be pretty much as I played in Vanilla. I would love it.
