Just a daily post about rogues being trash is not classic

In tbc rogues were good before 2.4. They were never this bad, this isn’t classic. If this were old blizzard, they would emergency buff rogues damage in pve and possibly nerf them in 2.4. If you have accepted some changes there is no way you can justify leaving an entire class as completely useless in pve.

Rogues were definitely not trash but they were middle of the pack in pve dps. They didn’t shine until tier 6 when loaded with armor pen and glaves.

This is a straight up lie. They were top dps before other classes got buffed to surpass them. The current situation is NOT classic or authentic in any way. The current patch is balanced around t6 gear not kara gear.

this is just the way it is

No, it’s the way the game was released. It’s not authentic or classic. Blizzard copied the private server approach of only releasing 2.4 and everyone just accepted it because that’s what they were used to.

I don’t understand how peoole are more obsessed with min/max’ing in Classic than in Retail. Just play the game and have fun.

Because what other people do matters? I can’t just say “herp derp I’m a rogue let me have fun” if no one wants to invite me. If I have to play with terrible groups and be replaced with a hunter if anything goes bad, why would I feel good about that?

Also want to add I already rerolled, probably like 90% of other rogues. But I hate seeing my main class butchered like this.

Just find a guild that isn’t insane.

Welcome to TBC 2.4, we all knew going into TBCC that it was going to be at the 2.4 patch level. Now you are acting surprised that your Rogue is performing as it did in 2.4?

This is the way it is, some DPS are not top, it is just the way the game is.

I mean if they are going to start trying to buff Rogue DPS, I am sure Warriors, Druids and every other class not in the top would love a buff too. Heck let’s just homogenize all the DPS so they are all the same DPS level.

Okay so who decided it was going to be 2.4 only with zero changes and zero authenticity to the patch? Because blizzard said “we’re going to release on 2.4” this should be accepted as the best possible game or the best way things can be done?

It’s not good gameplay, and it’s not classic, so how can you justify it? It’s not like this was a decision made for some greater good - it’s actually just not authentic or good for the game in any way.

It might come as a shock, but this is Blizzard’s game, and they decided 2.4 was the patch they want to release on. We do not have a say in this.

And it was not like there was not plenty of warning that 2.4 was the patch they would release on.

Blizzard makes bad decisions. Releasing 2.4 with no changes on a patch with only tier 4 content is a bad decision. This post is bringing attention to blizzard that they screwed up and basically deleted an entire class from pve. It does not matter if they “warned us”… blizzard could warn us that they were going to punch us in the face, that doesn’t justify it.

Nah, this is historic. This is slightly better than rogues were at TBC launch, honestly. The 2.4.3 talent trees removed Imp Sap 3/3 from the Subtlety tree and made it baseline for all rogues. In original TBC you had to be SUBT and spec for Sap to have even a 90% CHANCE of it not breaking stealth. This means in early TBC no one wanted rogues for ANYTHING. Terrible DPS, no group buffs, no reliable CC. Utterly garbage. At least Ferals have an innervate and a combat rez and leader of the pack. At least Fury warriors bring Battle Shout and decent AoE damage. Rogues were super, duper useless early TBC.

Now you’re slightly less super, duper useless!

WRONG. I played a rogue at launch 13 years ago, my memory actually works so I remember exactly where I was on the meter, conversations I had with people, buffs to classes, what spec I played in every arena season, etc. I remember ALL of it in detail. Hunters and warlocks did not get buffed at launch - rogues were top damage and people criticized them for being meelee. But they were still top damage at launch.

Rogues have always been, and will always be, trash.

Dumb reply since it’s not even true in any regard.

agreed. I’m a 63 rogue and I’m not having any problems finding groups and DPSing in them well enough to kill stuff at a good pace. only one time I did get rejected because they really wanted a mage for AoE stuff, and that hurts. people really need to stop with the optimization obsession. there is no dungeon in zangarmarsh that 100% REQUIRES a mage dps over a rogue one. don’t believe it.

Dungeons no, but in raids you’ll get rejected. Rogues do fine in dungeons but not for raids.

Look within to see the truth.

I’ll see how it is when I start raiding. But I suspect my guild will still be taking a healthy amount of rogues.
