After hearing the Announcement of Patch 8.2 that we’re going to Mechagon AKA place of the Junker Gnomes where everyone has been making posts about wanting Junker Gnomes as a full on Stand alone Allied Race. May I ask why?
To me Junker Gnomes seems to be another random race that no one on the alliance side asked for. Remember Void Elves? Yea look how that turned out and endless cries of wanting something original for the Alliance in terms of Elves with different color skin still continues and endless arguments continues. So why should we want a random race that no one asked for but only few people do would make the Alliance Allied Races any better?
Here’s couple of examples why:
1: Junker Gnomes aren’t the Ones from Northrend.
To players. Junker Gnomes may sound familiar like the ones up in Northrend Mechagnomes in Ulduar. But Junker Gnomes in terms of Looks don’t even come close to the ones in Northrend. They look more like generic half robots than Pure Half Titan Robots and in terms of Customization options is very weak and limited. Instead of One Robot Arm or One Robot Leg is two robot legs and arms and even robot eyes than normal eyes. From Concept Junker Gnomes seem to be kind of like Void Elves if people wanted High Elves but then Blizzard gave Alliance another Generic Dull Blueberries. In case with Junker Gnomes/Mechagnomes this concept of an Allied race seems to be a failure on one day.
2: They don’t work as a Stand Alone Allied Race and should have been a option for Regular Gnomes.
Its kind of pointless to even add them on the Allied Race slot since so many big highly requested races should be on there like High Elves, Wildhammer Dwarves, Broken Draenei, Sethrak, Arakkoa, Vulpera, San’layn, Forest Trolls, Ogres, Nathanos like Humans and etc. Even as a Stand Alone Allied Race Junker Gnomes don’t even work since their Heritage Armor is pretty much going to be the same as Regular Gnomes. In fact you might as well give these options to Regular Gnomes since what’s the point of adding them in if people wanted Robot Arms and legs for Regular Gnomes.
3: People who asked them will probably never play Alliance and would be a Wasted Allied Race on the Allied Race Slot.
Players on the Horde side who asked for them probably will not play them for long and will just nether abandon the race as a whole just to mock/tease Alliance Players who wanted iconic original races that should have been added in the system or just completely forget the Alliance all together. As to those on the Alliance who do wanted them They’ll probably forget them and go back to their popular races since noone plays Gnomes alot.
There you have it. Basically a random race that people wanted all whole ignoring the ones that actual matters to the lore. Forced gameplay or having Random Races to be added in for no reasons doesn’t make the game any better nor making the story anymore good than it was. When will we wake up and start accepting races that deserve to be playable, Races that has a lot more Lore and Feeling than Random Races or Races that doesn’t feel like Warcraft. In terms of Future for Allied Races. It isn’t going to be good. I can already see news of Light Forsaken being an Allied Race and people still continue to act so blindly without saying that Light Forsaken and etc feels more of a random race than a Race that suppose to be Faction Identity. Junker Gnomes, Light Forsaken, Gilgoblins, and etc doesn’t bring in that Faction Identity.
The Ones that do bring that Faction Identity gets rejected, memed, and being more as Props than Actual Races that deserves to be playable than just being simple options for regular races like Wildhammer Dwarves, Forest Trolls, High Elves, San’layn, Nathanos Humans, and etc.
Already as of now Future for Allied Races isn’t going to be good nor good for the game in entre. Only Ones that actual do bring Faction Identity is Kul’tirans and Zandalari Trolls. Other than that. Future of BFA is probably going down the routes of WoD except a lot more worst than WoD full of broken Dreams, Promises, and lack of playing anything iconic on the Alliance nor Horde in general.
