Jumping Puzzles

It would be cool to have some in the game, sometimes I just spend an hour jumping around Boralus trying to get on stuff instead of doing content. If you’ve ever played Guild Wars 2 they have some fun jumping puzzles. Inb4 the whole play a different game, I just think it would be a fun addition.

I don’t why they don’t. They kind of had pseudo jumping puzzles in Legion.

Think the big problem is just classes like DH and those with mobility that can make stuff negligible.

Give a buff that disables mobility, gliding ect.

True, but if they were in the world I’d imagine there would have to be a conceivable reason to do so though.

Like a magic field or something going on, not sure if that would be visible or not, and if it is would it ruin the jumping puzzles knowing where each are? I don’t know.

I agree id like them but I feel liek the wow jump is not quite as good as the gw2 jump. You cant control it quite as well so I think it would be very frustrating.

dear god no, i absolutely freaking hate jump puzzles and the jumping in wow is so atrocious.

people could barely do the waterfall jump puzzle in wod when it first released in shadowmoon.

(Commentary): Legion had stuff like this with Kirin Tor WQs. Now that flying is possible you cheese them for instant gratification.

(Opinion): Personally I’m fine with that. If they can’t add a debuff that prevents you from flying or mounting for the WQ, then of course I’ll cheese it. Path of least resistance. It’s certainly no reason to remove flying from the game.

Do you not remember how hated the Kirin Tor puzzles were?

This would be optional, maybe make it a segment of the main city with a floating maze that you can jump on. It doesn’t need to have a purpose or incentive and people will still do it as long as it is close to the main hub.

I remember people HATED them in WoD partially due to how numerous they were.

Personally, I like them… in non forested zones. It’s fun to figure out where you need to climb up to get to hidden goodies… except when it involves trees.

No.

I had to do them in WoD, for WoD pathfinder (the find X number of treasures part.) It was very irritating.

Any time Blizzard implements jumping or platforming puzzles in the game they get flamed for it.

Did you not see all the crying on the forums for the little jumping puzzle in Naz to save that little squid?

WoW forms would exploded if a gw2 style jumping puzzle was introduced.

That WQ was beyond broken. It would rarely register landing on the squid. Especially if you aren’t in the dead center of it.

It was easy. I think the first time I did it it took me about 2 minutes to figure out the distances. After that I don’t think it ever took me more than 30 seconds.

No they aren’t much fun in WoW. But I am pretty sure you get your wish in that Tower in Shadowlands.

I dunno, I found the climbing/jumping things in WoD to get to treasures up trees and such to be incredibly annoying. Naturally, once flight was available, they were easily bypassed.

Sometimes such things provide a bit of mental exercise to work things out, and sometimes they are dexterity-based. The latter things don’t work well for me because of my physical limits. Me personally, I’d rather see more little minigames like the singing sunflower one where you had to learn a technique to get the reward, that became more difficult each level. I found it fun and enjoyed working it out.

I honestly love the jumping puzzles in GW2. Except for one particular puzzle, I don’t remember the name but it has you jumping around an airship onto spinning gears and up onto pipes. F that puzzle. Took me an hour to get to the very last jump and the two spinning gears knocked me right down. Not trying it again.

with the increased network lag from everyone on quarantine, i can’t even complete that quest with pings in excess of 350ms. i will always fall through the first jelly.

it’s not just that quest: the sliding penguin ones have the yeti auto-catch me within 50 yards of the starting line. since moving overseas i have never bothered with the yearly midsummer torch catching quest.

the way the game resolves exact character position in the game world is wonky.
how many times have i stepped outside of an inn, tried to mount and the game still thinks i am indoors with a "can only use outside’ error for 2-3 seconds ?
