Jumping Puzzles in Dragon Flight

I just did a jumping puzzle in zereth mortis and it’s got to be my favorite thing in the game. It’s a fun drinking game each time you fall. What do you guys think about seeing more in the new expansion with chest rewards or epic boss fights at the top of the puzzle?

What is the nicest way to say “God No”?

Jumping puzzles are fun in other games but WoW’s jumping is just not that good.

No. Just – no. This isn’t Super Mario brothers. If I want to play a jumping console game, I’d play that one as it’s better suited for that sort of thing.

Just look at the horrible coding in Bastion with their jumping flowers. Some of them if you land in the center you just fall through and they have never fixed it.

I’m glad that you find it a fun experience, but many do not. It’s just a study in frustration.

A lot of people hate them. I enjoy them. Even when they are frustrating. They are never not doable, and if they are for you, there are work arounds for it.

As long as they are optional, I don’t see it as an issue. I actually wish they were more elaborate, like had dedicated “off the beaten path” little sections of the zone dedicated to the jumple puzzle aspect of it. There’s room for improvement.

I also wish treasure chests had treasure I actually care about.

About 10 years ago I played on an “all-gm” server where we made our own jumping puzzles, and it was fun. So no, it can be good in WoW too.

Jumping puzzles are fun as a minor diversion as long as their implementation doesn’t impact my gameplay in other areas.

The problem with jumping puzzles, or puzzles of any kind, is that they lose their luster after they’re solved. Once that happens, they get really boring and wear out their welcome.

That was one of the biggest problems with the last 4 expansions. So much of the open-world content was designed around these 1-and-done gimmicks and then they got boring really fast.

They had jumping puzzles like this in WoD and didn’t receive welcoming feedback.

Do y’all not remember the Jumping Jellies quest in Nazjatar? Apparently, the developers can’t be precise on their collision detection. Before we got flying in Zereth Mortis, I fell into a hole and couldn’t get out. Not just one hole, mind you, there are multiple in that zone. Happened multiple times. Luckily, I took mostly Venthyr characters out there, so I didn’t have to hearth every time just to get out.

Invisible walls that stop you from taking the “obvious” path, just a little too much elevation to get the rest of the way, inconsistent character jumps, a jump working once then not working again after that, having to land on a single pixel or you fall off,

And y’all want more of that? Count me out. Terrain problems have plagued WoW from the very beginning. "Here’s a short hill I can cross to get to that quest turn-in. I’ll just take it and… oh. Apparently the mole-hill is too steep. Guess I’ll take the long way around… "

"Finally! Oh… God no… It’s the Alliance quest hub! Not where I wanted to be! I’ll just hop down this little step and…

i love jumping puzzles in wow. a bit more decision making than say ff14, as we have run jump, back peddle jump, two different mount speeds and interactive objects.

If they brought back wall jumping, then yes.

I hope they don’t think a jumping puzzle where you die and end up with a 80 gold repair fee because you were 1 millimeter off–only to reach a chest that has a 15 gold value grey item in it–is content.

They honestly need to fire the entire team who thought that was a good idea.

I would love these kinds of puzzles, but only in PvP, raids and Mythic+. If your team can’t make the jumps, you can’t take the player to the raid.

Why limit this kind of fun to only casuals in the world? Shouldn’t the players doing the harder content and getting the better rewards be doing the harder content?

I don’t care what rewards are tied to jump puzzles, I won’t do them

I despise those mini games. They’re so annoying and buggy
