I believe the buff should be permanently added for all players under level 70, and every character created on classic should get it. This will allow people to catch up or level alts even after WOTLK launches.
I bet there will be tons of retail players who want to play WOTLK when certain patches are released or are soon to be released but will get discouraged by how long it takes to level. Also, with the prepatch going on its hard to do quests just like it was back when this prepatch first happened. I just went into goldshire mines and it was an army of zombies. This is in every zone it seems and is going to cause a lot of headaches leveling.

You think there will be large influxes of players coming to Wrath Classic when certain content releases?

kinda yeah… lets be honest. TBC hype died off instantly. whos to say it doesn’t happen with warth?
considering boosts and heirlooms… I doubt it will happen. Would it be a good idea? I don’t know it’s a bandaid fix.
it would require an entire paradigm shift for the game which it can’t really do.
it takes like 30 hours to level.
I’m having a blast leveling toons with this buff, and I feel some version should definitely be around, at least seasonally (or, even 25% would be reasonable.) They did make it optional, too… folks who don’t like it can turn it off.
Leveling is definitely fast… but I dunno about that fast.
You know, this is true… However, not everyone has access to heirlooms their first time around.

Yeah, if you poopsock, I suppose.
you do what you got to do. that’s what separates the pros from the noobs.
Wasn’t that the time for like a world first? I can’t imagine that’s the average leveler
havent addons gotten better since? the time should be decreasing after 500 pserver runs.
I think it would be a great idea if they had weekend / monthy events where the xp rates were raised. Leveling in classic is such a huge timesink, and we all know that most of the memories are made once the game actually starts in the current content.
While some individuals may be able to speed run leveling and 1-70 in a day or two. That’s not true for most of us. With the 50% xp boost, I was able to 1-70 in around 2.5 days played. That’s leveling primarily via quests. While doing the occasional dungeon quest. I leveling professions a little, but abandoned both once the levels got to around 100.
It’s hard to get new people to join in when you tell them “hey, it’s going to take 48-72 hours to hit level 70. Then 70-80 is going to take close to another 24 hours.” I don’t see the issue in making the game earlier to start for new players. I’ve tried to convince several long time friends to play wow. But after telling them there’s a monthly subscription and you have to spend so long leveling, none of them will try the game.

I mean I don’t see the negative of it.
They won’t give people RDF so people who hate questing can get through the leveling process and get to the actual content.
I agree keep the 50% exp buff or give RDF.

I would definitely support the 50% xp boost for a first character on a realm without question. Going past that it gets questionable.
Arguably, it makes more sense for alts.

should have never been a buff in the first place
I’m having a lot of fun with it, leveling up feels very smooth and progress is more steady
I’d love to have it until 70

They should! It doesn’t hurt the game, and it makes it much more enjoyable for new players and leveling alts. Or at least until 58…
