Jonãs and Friends

Checking in myself. No easy way to say this, so I’ll just say it clearly. My wife is in dying and has signed the papers to make herself a DNR, (“Do Not Resuscitate”)

As you may expect, I am finding this very hard to take, and I thank all of my friends here and of course in the other forums for your kind expressions of love. I will be in touch with Channyn and she will relay messages from me to those of you who are interested. “She Who Must Be Obeyed” is the reason I was able to play my favorite game for the last 18 years, and has been the topic of many of my conversations here.

To refresh your memories, Dondra is in the final stages of renal failure and she has told me she’s tired of the pain and would just like to stop. After many tears and words, we both agreed this is the best course for her and myself.

Thanks and much love from both me and my sweet wife, Dondra.

Jonas,

I am so so sorry such a difficult decision had to be made for you and your wonderful wife. My prayers and thoughts are with you both and may your remaining time together be full of peace and love and good memories.

Bill and Dondra are doing all right. For the time being, they’re staying at the hospital, and they’ve allowed Bill to stay in a room there so he can be close by if he’s needed. He’s been doing the best that he can, but I know he really loves and appreciates all of you here that made his time so special in the game and in the Lounge.

If any of you would like to reach out to him, please add my battletag (as noted above) and poke me.

Your love, thoughts, and caring have been a wonderful lifeline for him; so, please continue to reach out here when you can. It’s very much appreciated, I assure you.

Thank you, again, everyone. I can’t express adequately in words how much this means to both of us and to She Who Must Be Obeyed (Dondra).

Home for just a minute to say thank you, to ALL of you who have taken the time to respond. No good news, I’m afraid, so we just wait and see. I have asked her if she wants to come home, but she would rather not. I miss you guys, and I am sorry if I hurt some feelings when I left. Channyn and Zykera have my number if any of you care to message me, and as Channyn said, when you’re all alone even the smallest note helps.

I miss y’all and love you very much.

Bill wanted me to pass along how much he loves and appreciates all of you. Please be safe with the oncoming storm if you’re in its path.

He wanted to offer this song for all of you having to deal with Milton and any other storms life currently has to offer you.

Shelter from the Storm – Bob Dylan.

If any of you want to get in touch with him, please feel free to add me via battletag: Argentrose#1553

Thanks again, everyone!

Just an update from me today:

I’m doing good–tired this morning. Feeling a lot of unrest and worried for Bill and Dondra and anyone who’s going to be caught in Milton. Models are saying it should lessen in strength as it gets closer to land, but …that thing is a beast.

I’m feeling bad that I can’t be closer to my friends right now–especially when they have need of it. I know they understand, of course, but it doesn’t make it any easier.

Cer and I have been raiding this expansion with our old guild, Celestial Advocates, and I’m so happy to be back in the first guild where I really felt at home. It’s fun to be meeting new people, too. I wish the fights were easier, of course, but I’m learning how to work with our team, and that’s been a lot of fun–if, at times, rather exhausting. We’re having some trouble in heroic right now, but I think we’ll get there–not sure if we’ll manage it before October 22nd, though.

I’m taking a poetry workshop this month, but it’s been really hard to stay motivated this time around. I’m not loving that, either, but I’m moving toward acceptance. It’s okay that I’m not doing everything this time around. I think I will be entering a few poems into a contest, though, and starting to work on my author site; so, …there’s that.

Mostly just wanted to say that I am thinking about you guys and hope you’re doing well. Stay safe in the coming storm, and as always, if you need anything–we’re just a forum post away.

Love and hugs to all of you.

~~ Jenni (player of Channyn)

Hey everyone!

Bill sent this update via Kyzera:

“Please let the forum know that I thank them for their concern, and I love them.”

(Sorry…can’t seem to change characters at the moment; so, updating this post for now.)

Just wanted to let y’all know that one of the ways I try to occupy my time is to read the forums and see what there is to learn. Currently I am well-stuck still in The Dragon Isles, and really haven’t had much time to play

I just wanted to let y’all know I have you in my thoughts, and I love you. Take care of yourselves.

Oh no, I’m so sorry to hear this. I haven’t been active on the forum in months, and I dropped by here to see how some of my favorite WoW folks are doing. I’ll definitely keep you both in my thoughts and prayers.

Thanks, Vyanta and everyone. We are still hanging in there, and are appreciating all the kind words and love being sent to us. I forget how to get here from my mobile sometimes, but today I just did a search on Google and found you again. I will try to remember and try to get into some other discussions. Does anyone know how to download forums as an app for my mobile…Thanks, Bill

PS Also can someone help me get back to the question mark,123 setting… When I choose it, it goes to calculator instead. Thank you.

Found the problem with my ?123 button and fixed it. Thanks, anyway. Still would like to find a way to get the forums downloaded onto my phone’s desktop as an icon, though. Going to the Armory does not work.

if you look in the extensions option in your web browser most have one for the wow forums that will create an icon for a fast link

Can’t find the extension option on the phone, Nori. Went to settings and looked for it there, but unless it goes by another name on this Android, It isn’t anywhere ín settings, sorry.

In the chrome browser, assuming you didn’t install a different one. You should be able to just open the menu, three vertical dots in the corner near the search bar. Then near the bottom it should say “Add to Home screen”. That should be what you are looking for.

Hopefully, I’ve got an older android so it might have changed.

Same thing in Firefox. I suspect it’s an Android feature rather than a browser feature.

It worked! Thanks, kids! I now can talk to you on my phone! Awesome!

Hey, guys.

Dondra passed away this morning.

Bill is, understandably, taking it pretty hard. Please send all your love his way, and please leave a message here for him. He has family coming today and probably a lot going on; so, I’m not sure when we’ll hear from him. But please keep him and his family in your thoughts.

Thanks, everyone.
