And any gains for leveling dungeons will be temporary because JJ is about getting people to max level. So the people will not only level up faster they’re more likely to be the players who want a max level character as opposed to people who just enjoy leveling.
OP: Points out problem with current system that RDF could fix for many players, that other players who are having the same problem have expressed over and over again.
First Comment: “I’m doing just fine, so the system works”
Later Comment: “But muh social experience”
Love seeing the same checklist comments on every post that brings attention to an ongoing problem that keeps being pointed out, then suppressed by those who negate the experience of others.
Levelling was already quicker before JJ. Now it’s 50% quicker and people are saying it’s not enough? This community is appalling. If you can’t level in wrath where it’s already quicker than it was in TBC, and you have access to heirlooms and NOW have JJ, well you absolutely do NOT deserve to hit level 80.
The dungeons are still there. And people are levelling characters. Form a group and go do them. Not enough people to rally up and do the dungeon? Too bad. No one is denying anyone access to dungeons.
Look, Blizz chose to appeal to players who want to burn through the journey as quickly as possible, rather than players who want to actually experience the full extent of the game’s content.
noones experiencing anything because the content is dead. wanna do arenas? too bad. wanna do a vanilla dungeon? too bad. Wanna do normal lich king dungeons barely 2 months after laucnh? too bad. wanna do pvp at any bracket between 10-70? tough luck, but thanks for paying for a sub. Thought I was coming for the wraith experience, but instead im just playing a dying game where noone can play with each other because of a basic failure to make sure systems were in place for community play. This is not the wraith i played at all. The wraith I played was a fun game you could play at any time of day and hang out with other people. If wraith had been this horrible single player experience, wow wouldve died much sooner
What does 10 million subs back in the day have anything to do with this? You just don’t get it, dude.
Those 10 million players were spread over a ton of realms. As Blizzard has mentioned several times, they can pack a lot more players on a single realm. What does that mean? It means that a player has up to 5x as many people that they can access for dungeons than what they originally could do back in the day prior to RDF.
Pointing out the original number of subs, as if that has ANY relevance, kinda illustrates that you have no idea what you’re talking about.
Sorry, couldn’t let that nonsensical comment pass.
It matters because if you have 1 million subs and 95% of them raid log. Then you only have 50,000 active players split over, multiple realms, and multiple play times, multiple levels, and incompatible class combinations.
Original wotlk never had this degree of raid logging. This degree of inactivity sub lvl 60. Or this low amount of player population. All of those differences lead to a desolate LFD tool that borders on useless. And to top it all off, wotlk had a RFD tool.
Doing /who on SM revealed about 8-10 tank classes soloing the dungeon…and zero groups. good luck getting a tank for SM when they can solo the whole thing and get 100k exp/hr.
Joyous Journey has done nothing to promote group formation, socializing, or dungeon running. It has taken all the hyper efficient solo grinding styles and made them even more efficient, more isolating, and worse (but shorter)
It’s just a terrible tragedy to have all this great classic content, and it’s essentially gated because vocal parts of the community, who wouldn’t even use the tool, don’t want other people to have access to the tool.
I’ve started to see if any low level players just want free runs though dungeons.
Surprisingly they want the exp more than the items and rejected the offer 2/3 times in average and choose to wait for a group to form.
Any group that did form took multiple hours at best. For stuff like vc, rfd, and bfd.
