Apparently the Jinyu have been sitting on the sidelines alongside the High Elves.
So why haven’t the Jinyu been accepted into the Alliance yet? I saw a lot of other races being accepted before them DESPITE the fact that the Jinyu have loyally fought for the Alliance since MoP. I mean under Anduin, I would have assumed that they would have been the first allied race. No offence to Dark Iron, Lightforged Draei, Void Elf, but Jinyu should have been accepted into the Alliance before those races.
Jinyu deserve to be on the Alliance after all they have sacrificed for it. They are patriotic folks and have been around longer than some of these other allied races.
Hozen are dumb as beans though compared to the Jinyu. I don’t think Hozen could become an allied race for the Horde because they just look too primitive. Their society is equivalent to Murlocs. The strongest weapon the Hozen possess is a stone thrower.
Did they? The Pearlfin Jinyu became allied with the Alliance in BfA. There’s no indication they stayed. Jaina says in Nazjatar “A people called the Jinyu aided the Alliance in Pandaria.” She didn’t say they joined.
Note exactly. The Alliance was helping them, and only during MoP, not since then.
The whole Jinyu/Hozen conflict was more like the real-world situation of global powers “sponsoring” (see: equipping and training) natives in hopes of capitalizing on the ones they supported winning.
Between losses to the Hozen and the sha, the jinyu were already dwindling in numbers when players arrived, and as a group they really don’t have much reason to care enough about what’s going on outside Pandaria to be entangling themselves in a faction and its wars. Plus while the Hozen are rather anarchic and disinterested in most other peoples’ business, the jinyu are more directly part of pandaren society, and the continental pandaren are expressly and deliberately not in either faction.
I’d simply retcon it so the Ankoan are the Elite Military of the Jinyu, the samurai counterpart to the Waterspeaker Priesthood
I’d also tie the Jinyu pearls to the Kul Tiran Tidepriest Pearls and have them both worship a mysterious Tidemother (Wild God, Aquatic Pantheon of Life Queen, who knows)
Hozen should be Horde, Monkey King should be a Horde leader (and given a name, Wukon/Wukong/Gokun whatever)
Jinyu/Ankoan go Alliance, Hozen/Giligoblin go Horde, and to counterbalance the Monkey King being magical and immortal, Lusshan is magical and immortal too.
I so badly want gilgoblins. I would race change whatever character would best fit. I would level up another character just for the heritage armor. Give me gillies.
There are Alliance-aligned Jinyu in Boralus, aren’t they from the Pearlfin tribe ? If not then it’s truly a pity they never made it out if MoP when Hozen have, being among the Horde ranks in BfA.
Oh. That’s a bit sad. The Hozen in Zandalar being the Horde ones, I thought the Jinyu in KT would be the Alliance ones, considering both those races and continents are faction parallels
