Today, Intel announced that Jim Keller has resigned effective June 11, 2020, due to personal reasons. Intel appreciates Mr. Keller’s work over the past two years helping them continue advancing Intel’s product leadership and they wish him and his family all the best for the future. Intel is pleased to announce, however, that Mr. Keller has agreed to serve as a consultant for six months to assist with the transition.
While it’s sad he’s leaving due to personal reasons because one of his family members (wife’s family side Jordan Peterson was recently in an induced coma). I hope it’s not too serious and wish his family well.
However while tech related, this means a really big F for Intel. He’s always been known for leaving companies after his work is done, such as Zen when he worked for AMD and him leaving without completing his work, this isn’t good for Intel
Could this mean Even with Jim Keller on Intel’s side, 10 nm was not successful? Could this foreshadow Intel’s future in actually releasing 10nm for desktops and beyond?
