How are you supposed to make money? Everything costs 250% more to make than it sells for.
Even with 50% multicraft and 50% resourcefulness it is still a huge net loss. Am I just missing something here or is there no point it?

Unless you are specced for the materials you aren’t going to make money because there are people that have already maxxed that out.
You could specialize in gems. Which you are going to have to maxxed in a particular gem and be able to craft it at quality 3 in order to make money,
You could also specialize in rings/amulets. Most of you money will be made crafting at quality 5 because most people will want that.
The last thing that might be a money maker is the gem slots if you can get the recipe from raid.
You won’t be making money from it right now because it’s already been exploited to not end with acuity, so unless you’re prepared to drop professions and get acuity to get more recipes, or invest into drop recipes, you won’t be making much.
Spec into reagents, sell reagents. There’s little use crafting anything from it. Most servers already have 100x ring/neck crafters.
Seems like they should have patched that in the beta when people were doing it, and also ban people who abused it.
What a let down.
Crush gems, post on AH, profit.
JC has been a gold sink since…christ i cant even remember the last time JC was worth a darn.
The biggest issue with JC is that the prospect feature still only requires 5 ore but the volume of ore that we get now exceeds that so much that after the first couple of weeks, you end up swimming in gems, and no one wants them because there are so few sockets.
In SL when i was a JC i think i could count on my hands and toes the number of Gems i actually managed to sell.
It sells them gold tokens, they won’t.
Gem crushing is pretty much the main profit right now.
DF JC was worth it, esp if you got lariat.
Jewelcrafting now is probably still the easiest prof to get profit out of.
Oh yeah, DF was a nice little refresher to it, but like you said, only with the Lariat.
IMO JC wont really be a good prof until they go back to what sockets used to be back in BC and wrath.
Bring back the meta gems as well. That was a great system that did not need to be removed.
Someone I know made multiple goldcaps with jc, and didn’t start with much.
(In tww.)
I had lariat and DF was a lot of money from it.
You can still make money now with crushing, but I wouldn’t throw your entire back into bothering with anything else. Maybe if you get Binding of Binding though embels are still buggy and most people will be avoiding them until they’re tuned.
I mean to be fair its not hard to make gold cap anymore, especially with the regional AH, you can do it over a couple of week by just flipping items, and thats if you are going slow at it.
flipping is different from using a prof though.
I mean yeah of course i personally would like to see prof be up front as a more viable way to make money but some prof just dont have it in them unless you are super lucky with a specific pattern.
Or in the case of an engineer basically unable to make steady gold at all, since blizzard keeps screwing you over.
Prof is a money maker though. Just is everyone can do it, it’s a matter of time until zero margins remain.
Not everyone can turn on the gold printer and have it still work.
Some can make money some can not, or rather they make very very little.
IE Engineering
again past expantions did this a lot better in terms of a lot of prof could be viable in steady income over time
Potion bombs should sell?
You have to think about gold making first, crafting second if you want to make money with any profession, really.
You can make gold with almost any profession but you’ll need to spec right.
Nah. They dont sell for poop.
The thing i dont get is why blizzard did not include the ammo consumable we had in DF, THAT was amazing to get, and could make some steady cash with it, but its missing in TWW
what ammo consumable? And as for potion bombs, real content didn’t start yet.
