I recently joined the WoW Secrets discord and started working on some theories for finding Jenafur.
I noticed a few differences in translation for pt_BR and saw some theories relying on region specific/cultural external hints like brands and commercial specific to US.
We do have confirmation from Blizzard devs that those secrets are designed so they can be solved by colorblind and hearing impaired people.
What I would love to know from a community manager if possible is:
Are those secrets also designed so they can be solved by players of any country/region ? To be more specific:
- Is it designed so the interface can be used in any language ?
- is it designed to be solved from in-game elements / wow universe only ?
I appreciate any help on that matter.
I highly doubt there’s any hints outside the game, there never has been, and that would be pretty ridiculous.
And I doubt they’d make secrets that only disabled people would be able to solve, as that seems too niche, and too outside the general audience the content is designed for.
The sad reality of WoWs secret finding, is most people either sandbox and datamine the answers, or wait for a Blizzard friend to tell them the answer. Very few of these secrets are solved on their own.
Id have to assume the delay on Jenafur is simply Blizzard devs being too busy to push players toward the next hint.
Datamining really doesn’t provide as much information on these types of things as people seem to think. Most of the information is hidden on the servers and what is exposed doesn’t usually provide any meaningful info. It’s also not uncommon for developers to put a few red herrings into the system just to throw dataminers off as well.
Also you should never underestimate the ingenuity of the people who actually go to the effort to solve these things. The last thing a developer wants to do is just give out the answer as it ruins the fun for everyone (Including them self)
Different people approach problems in different ways and can sometimes see things that others cannot.
Oh sorry, that is not what I meant. All I said is we have confirmation that they were inclusive and made sure disabilities wouldn’t prevent someone from finding those secrets.
My point is: were they also inclusive when it comes to other languages and regions ? That is all I want to know.
How would they even do that?
I’m going to say the hunt for this cat more then likely end at the cat lady’s house in Boralus. There is one cat that registers as a merchant and even though you can’t buy anything from it I don’t think it’s a bug.
