Playing the devils advocate here, but someone listed a stack at 2k, you somehow did not see its was 2k, purchased it and now want recourse because you think you were baited into buying it?

People often list things for ridiculous amounts and rare I suspect do people buy them, but its not baiting…
It’s a common tactic for scumlords to try and trick people by putting the bid price lower (but similar), but they then have the buyout price at a huge amount. They hope that someone will sort by price and notice the lower bid price but not notice the buyout price.
It’s like how scummy people on eBay will put a small item for real cheap but then charge $100 shipping.
Except you can’t charge for shipping in WoW. The price is right there. It’s your own fault if you don’t pay attention.

This is scamming, you know it, I know it, everyone knows it. This is why portion of scammers raged when retail put in new AH where you can’t get scammed like this.
It is baiting, it’s very much baiting. They aren’t looking to sell Linen for 2k gold, they want people to make a mistake and buy their 1000%+ price listing by accident.

Well, the intention is to catch players who are using buyout bid to purchase multiple stacks at once, using a bid price that matches the market standard so that their scam auctions are intermingled with legitimate ones (noting that the individual AH sales shift with every purchase so it is easier to lose track of which row you are looking at).
Plus, the barrier to entry is so low and the dividends so high that there is minimal detterence for scammers to not do this. Scammers know this: even if it doesn’t work 99% of the time, that 1% still yields insanely high returns.
In light of all that, yes OP and other can definitely avoid falling for the scam. But the people who post these are malicious predators who count on that 1% of people having a momentary lapse in concentration.
It’s the WoW equivalent of throwing yourself in front of a moving car then suing the driver.

It is a scum bag gold seller. While they are out farming they get scammed passive income this way. They will gladly sell it back to you for a price.

yeah man I was buying at like 5g per stack because I needed rep back with goblins for the insane title grind (from fully hated). no way I was gonna pay 100g either, just got rekt.
