JC Help - I can't find Nightmare Tear

Hey, I’m hoping someone can help me out here. The answer is probably obvious but you know, sometimes you just can’t find the ketchup in the fridge even when it’s right in front of you.

I’m looking for the design for Nightmare Tear (+10 to all stats). All the guides say you get it from Timothy Jones, but he’s only a trainer for me, nothing else. It feels like it might be coming in a later phase but it’s in all my pre-bis guides. Is there something I’m missing here?

Thanks for any help!

Bumping this, hoping someone knows what’s up here.

Epic gems aren’t available yet. Later phase.

It’s super weird that the pre-raid BiS guides include this… but that works for me. Thanks for your comment

All that information is based off private server data. Gotta take all of it with a grain of salt.

Whatever guide site you are using just stop using it, use WoWhead or Icy Veins or Class Discords. Pretty much all others are garbage.

This was on wow-head.

I don’t often follow these guides to the letter, but I do use them as a starting point for when I build my character out. It suggests nightmare tear for gemming when you need a blue socket gem that has a good bonus. Since I’m not an engineer, this is a great choice for the head slot item (which gives +8 agi).

I dug all over the darn internet and couldn’t find any information about this. Logic suggests this was a mistake and not in this phase, but it’s nice to have confirmation. Interestingly, the tank pre-bis suggests the rare quality version.

Thank you guys

Oh well I’ll be darned, they don’t have any other epic gems so the likely meant the Enchanted Tear:

Or they are future proofing for future phases and forgot to list gem priority of Purple (when out) > Blue > Green as they are on some of their guides they are updating today.

Icyveins is trash

Yes it is, however it’s still better than half the other garbage sites though. Some of those sites are based for private servers and saying prot pallies to gear with intellect plate and not strength because their touched by the light talent was changed in ToC. I can’t tell you how many prot pallies who are leveling are in intellect plate gear because they are reading those trash guides. I would much rather have them read icy veins than those.

Yea, for sure. The +6 isn’t as compelling as the +6, but I guess I would be doing a purple gem here anyway and only getting +6 of the stat I do want, so I might as well get +6 of all of them.

I’m still kind of wrapping my head around strength being a higher weight than agility. I understand their reasoning but it feels so unnatural to take strength over agility as a feral druid. I haven’t figured out if I’m pro enough to make bear weaving effective yet though

The main reason to still want to use the +6 gem is to meet your Meta Gem requirements so then you can use all of your BiS gem (usually +SP, +Agi, +Stg, etc). So for my ret pally I will use an enchanted tear on my belt buckle (or good socket bonus) and the rest red strength gems.

EDIT: Also if you’re a bit of a cheapo while gearing feel free to use an Enchanted Pearl (Green +4 all stats) because generally the Meta Gem activation requirements are really good and the Enchanted pearl costs like 5g compared to 200g for the tear.
