Jan 30th, Remove BFD Lockout

This is the right time to remove the lockout, giving people, if they desire, just over a week to farm BFD as much as they want/can for any last items that the RNG Gods did not bless them.

I do agree with lockouts making items more valuable through rarity throughout a phase, but right before a phase they will already lose value with new things to look forward to.

Also, I hope they find a creative way to deal with the BFD world buff in P2. Maybe it doesn’t stack with the Gnomer raid world buff?

Edit: Maybe add decent XP from BFD as an alternative way to level like roughly 5 levels if they removed the lockout the week before or on P2 release. They did hint about something different to do to level. Dungeon grinding was always a thing, but not raid grinding.

I was talking about this with my guildies. Just go for a week with like 1 day lockout, or just remove it.

Good idea. Should probably be done with every raid tier sometime after or even before the next tier is released.

No. Unless we see a massive overhaul of quest rewards, crafted recipes and dungeon drops, most of the gear in BFD will remain bis until Gnomer.

They have never removed the lockout on a raid just because a new raid tier was released. No reason to start now. You have ~10 lockouts to farm gear until P2, and I would imagine player will continue to farm BFD at 40, albeit in smaller groups.

Yeah that’s not going to happen, you’ll still be running lockouts in BFD as you level. So trust me you’ll have plenty of time to get the gear you want.

have they ever removed raid lockouts before?

This would be terrible.

Some of the gear will be very good going all the way to being pre bis for Gnomer most likely.

It would be silly to just allow everyone to farm it like crazy and get everything.

Back in classic ever since the first week I did MC on my rogue and NEVER got Perditions Blade until a few weeks after BWL released. It would have been awful if they just let me farm MC whenever I wanted for a few weeks before BWL.

It’s the chase that keeps people playing.

Well first this is SoD so obviously discovering how new things will work is on the table.

And we can hardly call in a mid leveling raid that’s a half hour stomp a real raid anyways.

Its not that big of a deal either way

id be down for this, no reason to go back into BFD besides a trinket or a boon AFTER gnomer comes out, since most of the Gear gets replaced around lvl 30 for most classes, expect for weapons and some SP gear.

No slight to you, but I feel some type of way when people say this. People be throwing the most odd stuff out and be like “but but its season of discovery” dont mean we gotta go completely left field my guy.

This is a bad idea, farming the spell power gear is most likely going to be Pre-bis to gnomerang.

For example the epic staff is on par with staff of jordan, which staff of jordan was pre-raid bis for 60… The epic 2h sword, will be replaced by warriors are level 30.

Blizzard needs to put interm gear in for phase 2 that is pre-raid bis at 40.

With current drop rate, the game is punishing the effort and time I used on raid. I hope they add more equivalent craftings, so we can go farming. I still loved all the old crafting quests in vanilla around or up to bwl phase.they were a lot more fun than just spamming shadow bolts in mc

Just add all the gear to a vendor for a few gold each item.

this is SoD so obviously discovering how new things will work is on the table.

The raid quite literally takes 20-30 mins to complete so removing the lockout in my opinion is absolute non-sense. We have MANY lockouts left to farm and we had MANY lockouts so far.

You don’t need this gear to level to 40 anyway. Just the new runes alone added a ton of new extra power so I really see absolutely zero reason to do this.

i disagree mainly because id like to see the raid have relevance next phase while leveling. bosses in bfd should give massive chuncks of exp

How about no?

Eh nah never really been a huge fan of nerfing the old content as soon as some new content arrives…

Ah, how about no?

Why should all players get to start Phase 2 with full sets of BFD gear, while the others who spent time doing the raid every 3 days and building up their characters have nothing to show for Phase 1?

I don’t think so. Because there would never be a point in doing the raid until the lockout is removed if you can just get all the gear at the end of each phase.

Some of the gear is good til 40, til Gnomeregan. People with BFD gear will level quicker, and they will have more survivability in PvP while leveling. That’s the reward for spending time to gear up.

Removing the lockout and letting it become a 10-man raid akin to UBRS seems like the correct move to me, and probably the move they’ll make.

There’s prebis in UBRS and we don’t lock that.

I think the fact there would be prebis in there actually makes an argument for removing the lockout, since it makes prebis accessible to anyone willing to grind it out instead of just those that have been lucky.

MC didn’t get unlocked when BWL came out because it was still relevant content for the end game, and it didn’t unlocked on TBC release because it was entirely irrelevant. I feel like BFD fits between there.
