This is well after the release, but in 9.25 there was a quest where at the end, Khadgar confesses to Jaina, “I feel the wight of years upon me, Jaina. The burdens carried. The choices made.” Obviously, this reflects his weariness, but because he said it to Jaina, it seems like foreshadowing of her taking his place as the most powerful of mages, leaving Khadgar to either step aside or die.
Did anyone else think the same? If so, what do you think of this possibility?
I would really, really miss the Dadgar jokes.

I would be surprised if he survives his first scene.
Huge and obvious red flag for death to write a character talking about how old and tired they are. He’ll be dead before 10.1, for sure.
So what Covenant do you think he’ll get?
Among other things, placing so much focus of Shadowlands on these four realms was a huge mistake. It would have been interesting to explore beyond them. In fact, getting Torghast’s randomized system put to work with us visiting the hypothetically infinite other afterlives would have been great.

I dont think its a good idea due to jaina’s actions against the horde, thats not going to be flippantly cast aside.
Khadgar has always been neutral and thus was the person to talk to.
I mean absolutely because Jaina is about to go super dreadlord 3.
But not before Khadgar has his Obi-Wan Kenobi moment
Khadgar’s voice actor is well along in years. He himself needs to retire.
Jaina becoming the new Guardian makes logical sense, though it’s unclear if she’d have to pass on her responsibilities as Lord Admiral over Kul Tiras. Maybe Genn Greymane and Gilneas can hop into there somewhere considering their involvement with Kul Tiras during BFA.
Yeah, he’ll get his Big Hero Moment, but begin to falter, prompting Jaina to step in to assist with finishing said spell. And if he doesn’t die in that scene, he will at least pass the mantle.
I’m not sure, Jaina isn’t quite a 
wizard.
I mean don’t get me wrong, she’s pretty bad and never uses her powers when she needs to, but… she’s def no Dadgar.
Keep khadgar because we all know how terrible of a leader jaina really is…
