I hope that link doesn’t explain how they’re doing the exploit, because that makes you liable for a forum vacation. Report the exploit in-game to a GM, not here.

It’s not “farmable” at any rate, as from what I hear, it just lets you spam rerolls.

I guess all we can do is hope it’s hotfixed quickly.

And every single person doing it should get the items removed and a game vacation.

FYI the link is an image showing one person receiving 5 pieces of loot off the boss from the guild activity info from the armory which clearly demonstrates that it’s not just a matter of bonus rolls, it’s separated by time with other people receiving loot from different sources in between the person getting loot multiple times from the boss. In fact it’s two different pieces of loot that he received one of them 2 times and the other one 3 times.

I’m not saying they shouldn’t receive penalties. And judging from previous similar exploits, such as the WQ exploit early this expansion, a permanent ban certainly isn’t out of the question.

What I AM saying though, is GD isn’t the place to discuss, or post about it. There are appropriate channels to report such exploits, and drawing further public attention to it here just makes it more likely some chum would try it themselves. At least the OP didn’t post the method; that’s an offence in itself as well.

It still amounts to once again Blizzard’s messing up, and we’re going to most likely see it patched in a way it only truly nerfs one side. Posting it on here doesn’t actually draw further public attention, you do understand it’s not just posted here, but on reddit and other outlets as well.

So if it’s already on reddit and other outlets, what’s the point of posting it here again besides possibly letting players who don’t read those, know about the exploit?

Report it in-game, and move on. Although the chances of Blizzard not already knowing about this is probably nil.

Doesn’t matter if it’s all over other places, Blizzard can’t control that. But they can control their own forums and they don’t want people posting about exploits - it can get you a forum ban etc. That’s all Beaumont is saying

And your point? OP didn’t post the method, they’re trying to raise awareness of the issue regardless. Blues don’t just visit solely the bug report side of the forums.

Still you can’t exactly deny this wasn’t immediately going to be exploited the second people found out about it. Do you really believe people are actually able to play fairly?

So its their fault the boss doesn’t work correctly? what if someone helped out someone and ended up getting loot twice

I don’t think they’re “Helping out on a world boss.” There’s nothing to really help out on that kind of thing. The world bosses are camped by hundreds of people, I’m sorry if you believe it’s actually possible for a boss to wipe an entire raid like that.

People drag him into the horde town, as a troll, and people help clean up the mess. you could quite literally accidentally get loot or bonus roll option more than once.

I like the wanna-be forum police who think it’s their job to tell people where it’s appropriate to have a discussion about people abusing the existence of a bug to get 385 loot. Not how to do it, just the fact that the bug exists and it is being abused. And while it’s not truly relevant, I personally find it funny that it’s a horde saying “don’t talk about it here”. Just kinda tops off the discussion nicely.

Mai, I’m confused as to how you think posting it here doesn’t draw further attention. Not everyone reads reddit or other outlets. Every person who sees it here is exposure it didn’t have otherwise. I do see there’s a post about it on MMO-Champion but that’s only because I went looking to see where else it’s cropping up. Had I not seen it here I wouldn’t have the pleasure of laughing about Blizzard’s screw up tomorrow morning with a friend over coffee, and that would be a shame :stuck_out_tongue:

This should not be posted here. Not only is OP naming and shaming someone (which is against the CoC), but he’s also informing all of GD that may not have known about it, about an exploit.

There is a more appropriate place and way to post this.

if people get banned because blizzard didn’t hotfix a loot system then that’s just wrong. what do you expect when a ilvl 395 carrot is dangling around.

My point has literally been repeated, several times. Posting here does absolutely nothing in making this exploit get fixed faster. NOTHING. More posts aren’t going to magically make Blizzard’s techs work any faster.

The whole “raising awareness” idea is moot. Blizzard already likely knows about it, unless their entire company lives in a cave separated from all forms of communication. The only awareness you’re going to raise from this post is letting players who don’t read Reddit or game news sites (which surprise surprise, is a sizable part of the WoW population), know about the exploit, which could possibly lead them to looking up the method themselves. I don’t know how much more explaining I can do for you, short of using a different language.

Even making a post about the exploit without the method itself is iffy. I’ve seen past forum posters get suspensions during the World Quest debacle earlier this year. But you do you. Whether any of ya’ll get suspensions despite my repeated warnings is no longer any of my concern.

Yep, totally accidental! I mean I keep standing here and people keep dragging him to me and I just have to hit him because they’re trolling me and oh my gosh I just got 15 pieces of 385 loot, whoops! Totally unintentional! Do people really buy the lame excuses you spew irl?

Right so people should be banned because blizz didn’t release the boss correctly.

Good for you buddy, I’ll continue to do me, and considering I’m not saying how it’s done, in fact thanks buddy for admitting how to do it. I mean gosh, if only you hadn’t openly admitted the method to farming the exploit.

So what Beaumont. It’s fun to complain. It’s fun to laugh at Blizzard screwing up, yet again. It’s fun to laugh at the people who think they’re going to get away with exploiting an obvious bug. Don’t like it? Too bad? Not sure what to tell you.
