I've solved the Evoker third spec problem!

Cuze casters aren’t tanks. They arent Meant to tank damage and stayin melee range. Casters kite, period. They stay at range to avoid damage and cast spells.

You have a cognitive bias here. The Evoker tank can use an immolation aura type ability that does continuous damage and holds threat that way. They also use AOE spells and maybe also do some very minor auto-attack melee damage.

This is perfectly possible. Demon Hunters already use spells as part of their tanking rotation (immolation aura, eye beam). Paladins use consecration. I’m just talking about a tank that is much more caster based. The tank does not kite, they stand still and use primarily spells and maybe a couple melee abilities to tank and hodl threat.

Easy fix, tank spec drops most spells to instant cast with lower damage and increased threat.

Druid is the caster tank with moonfire. But in the end, everything runs to melee.

I mean yeah it is bizarre that dragons, specifically an idea of neltharion the earth warder can’t take a few hits to the face but bobhoplessthedk can fight a robot death god face to face or face to uhh robot death god knee.

But I don’t think this is the fix!

Can we just go with the usual concept regarding Hero classes?
2 roles are provided by the Hero class.

DK and DH were given the Tank and mDPS roles…

Now Evoker can get the Heal and rDPS role.

Where’s the monk???

Monk is not a hero class.

But Evokers should have 3 specs. DH should as well.

Monk is not a hero class.

Idk I like a caster tank spec.

Channeling rock skills to surround our bodies to take hits.
Shooting a hail of fire in an aoe around you?
Flying in a direction and pulling all your enemies with you?
Slowing enemies with frost breath.

Nice, so pretty much invokers no longer casters, just another hybrid spec forced into because the tank community wants a 4th class in a Row with tank role.

The examples you Are giving are not tank casters. Paladin is not a caster, the max they do is cast heal. And even with heals, they’ve been reworked over the decades to be more melee oriented then Caster oriented

Just wait for next expansion, we already had to wait decades to get one caster.

I did read it and the answer is the same. It does not work. That’s why the classes you get are melee classes that uses magic to fight.

Deathnight and paladin

Even our most hybrid class, druids, can’t achieve this

I think most people are just gunna stick to the class/race they already have and like. DOA is a poor argument considering most things they add are DOA to someone in the community anyway. PvP is always DOA for me but that doesn’t mean they should change it in anyway to cater to me

You’re thinking too much of hardcasting. Instant spells are casting.

All evokers would have is a large toolkit for ranged.

There’s no issue here.

A new tanking class doesn’t ever translate into more available tanks. Literally every new class up to this point has proven this truism.

In the context of newly added race/role combos that hasn’t been the case.

So a melee magic user. Like deathknights and paladin. That is what you just described.

Honestly we get one range caster and now people want to take it away from us lol.

Necromancer forever gone cuze of dk.
Demo meta spec stolen by demon hunter
Now our first caster in decades at risk

I totally agree with the class. I’ve not had any inkling to play DH or DK cause melee is eww.

I do however understand people’s complaints able the race also being “locked” out of melee because it can be only the one class.

Summary: Evoker should not have melee. It’s a caster.

The new Dragonkin race should have had more access to other classes to obtain those melee/tank roles.

Two spec’s aren’t a problem imo, but people tend to defend it with it would make the two specs more unique and more well toned but look at demon hunters they’ve been hurting ever since legion and still miss a third spec without being well toned and unique lol…

Why don’t you just play a healer or range? Next expansion should be more alt friendly.

I mean I have no intention of making a tauran rogue so yes, thats DOA for me. Like I said everything is DOA for someone. Are you equally upset about the new race not having a melee dps spec right off the bat? are you aware they intend to let dracthyr be more classes after DF?
