I've Realized that What Makes MMOs FUN is NOT Playing with Other People

yeah, not just any guild, Im sure.
Some of them railing off in here at others are certainly in guilds themselves.

You dont owe that one or anyone else here any explanations, friend…he needs to mind HIS OWN business and go play HIS game and stop obsessing himself awake at night over yours.

You know what, Abombshiled. I am a Mythic Raider and I actually super agree with your take on this. Me and my friends don’t make dungeons fun for anyone who wants to chill. There are even moments right now where doing heroics with my friends can be difficult to find a second to take a sip of whatever beverage I’m enjoying.

I want WOW to grow, but it shouldn’t grow for players like myself or my guild. It should expand to an audience of normal, not legally insane gamers. They absolutely need more normie and solo content that doesn’t have the incentive to ignore all biological needs in search of faster clear times.

I’m with you. Cheers.

This most Oxymoron post I ever came across.

Have you tried playing single player RPGs ?

Things like ai dungeons are all fine and good as a side thing to placate the odd player that wants to experience content without the need to play with others. This is fine because it does not affect anyone but yourself.

Asking to make prime content with the same ai is pretty ridiculous tho. You want bots that can run m plus and higher raids?

Why even call it an MMO at this point.

Might as well be called a MSO.

I actually love this post. It made me laugh when i read the title. but i fully agree with expanding the solo content with follower dungeons.

These threads are always entertaining with the whining about solo content being added.
looks like you folks will have to do what you tell us to do…go find yourselves another game if you cant handle the direction WoW is heading in.

See ya

Just to point out this guy has 134 post and most of them are in this thread. So the sock puppets overeacting at the thought of WoW being a better MMO because of the addition of great solo content is amusing. I haven’t responded to their comments because it’s not great for the thread and it becomes convoluted.

With that said what makes WoW an MMO is the open world, it’s Questing, the story, the Class fantasy, lore, professions and interacting with players for trade. It’s flying around looting chest, do mini-games like snuffling. That is what makes WoW an MMO. Raiding and dungeons aren’t the MMO aspect of the game and are a very small part of WoW. What makes WoW an MMO is the wonderful open World of Warcraft

Many elitist realize this and feel like their grip on the game is slipping when players are having a blast not doing their content. Hence the sock puppets all through this thread instead of real responses. The MMO is the open world and now players can enjoy Solo instanced content which it should be expanded on.

Delves and Heroic/Mythic follower dungeons with competitve end game loot would make WoW a better MMO overall.

yeah…its HYSTERICAL how the trolling sorts think that playing with them is what MMO is about lol.
No…MMO just means lots of players are playing the game online together…it doesnt mean they HAVE to interact unless its something like a PvP game or some other game where interaction is literally required.

Great post

Star Wars Galaxies SWG had a great in-game social UI that helped with that. Always wished other MMOs would do the same.

Great post. And yes, you definately notice a difference when playing FF14 vs WoW.

I wish WoW could get back to the place you described, which is more FF14 like, and less toxic competitive gameplay that attracts a certain type of player.

IDK about retail or followers, BUT, i’ve been saying for YEARS, that an mmo can be an mmo but also singleplayer.

in fact it’s better without interacting with other players. I know it’s not the full point of your post, but I want a single player version of wow PLEASE. that’s what I was hoping sf in hc was going to be. but no i’m still at the whims of other players ruining my entire experience just by existing.

I love playing WoW with other people. I don’t like playing WoW with strangers I’ll never see again who have zero accountability. That’s a big issue with this game being a group game. No moderation, no investment in civil maintenance.

But my best time spent in this game is with my wife and/or our friends. Sadly most of them don’t play anymore, so it’s usually a duo or trio. Not enough for a dungeon group.

If TWW holds my interest, I’ll likely try to find a chill community to play with, as my old guild is dead AF. But the content’s not a big enough deal to me to really put too much effort into that right now.

Edit: I do enjoy their investment in solo play though. Even when I was raiding multiple times a week, I still put a lot of time into playing alone outside of my raid nights.

Another Abomb post…guess I’ll bite.

I disagree. I think it’s awesome that you like follower dungeons, but I really don’t.

This, the LFD/Dungeon Finder culture really do be hitting lately :face_in_clouds:

Afterthought: I don’t think expanding follower dungeons into higher difficulties would work well. I can’t ever see them balancing the AI well enough.

I think things like Delves are a better alternative for more challenging and more rewarding solo/small team gameplay, although the AI in those could probably get super frustrating as well. TBH I hope down the line we can just disable a follower and have a narrator or something instead, especially once the season begins.

As a solo player, I don’t see any real need for gear that’s higher ilvl than the weekly heroic raid piece the vault will offer me, unless the challenge requires it of me. Follower dungeons are amazing for quests, however.

I used to be an AOTC raider and that gear was more than enough to conquer the world around me.

Yeah I mean I’m not going to try to deny someone else better gear for any reason but the gear that I get from questing and odds and ends here and there are more than enough for my solo game. Right now I’m 556 and I’ve only done a handful of dungeons most of those were follower.

556 seems to be more than enough for me for my game

I agree! Though i enjoy having a group sometimes, the delves and folllwer dungeons are my fsvorite! Keep it up! Iam also having fun with the current content which hasnt happened in ths longest time!

The wife hadnt played in a LONG while.
I showed her the delves and man, she ran them like 3 hours yesterday.
She keeps joking how the only thing she misses with group play is the mouthy sorts in the chat box railing at everyone else lol

This is a gear based game and the first goal is BiS gear. Doesn’t matter what content you prefer or do. At the end of the day I want BiS gear for Solo play and the content I enjoy. Attaining BiS gear is completing my character.

I’ve always thought the real game starts after BiS gear because then that is when you can do anything and start really playing the game. You got the gear component out of the way.

Delves are plenty challenging and zero reason why they can’t off a path to BiS gear. I’m not sure why even long Quest chains and big time sinks into open world content can’t offer BiS. There should be multiple paths too BiS.
